We are 1 shy of our current member limit. As such, I think our best bet, rather than force our glorious leader to do more skill training we boot some dead weight: Inxi Moans LLyse (where are you) Bant and Bethal Peach Pope Ziggy Ricarr Reesh If these belong to you, post here or get ze boot.

Llyse has been around not too long ago I feel like.
Bant&Bethal wasn't this a declared vacation thing?
I have not seen Pope or Ricarr in quite some time your right about that. Not sure one way or another about Peach.

This seems as good, or bad, a place to post this as anywhere. No way am I opening a new thread and drawing attention to myself.
I'd be keen to join up some time, if there was a slot available at that point. But having just started a few days ago (still only Merlin, 180k skills, 2mill cash so lightweight as anything), I realise there's plenty of work needed first.
So when is the sort of point that a newbie becomes even vaguely useful to a corp?

After a few hours if you don't mind being a tackler/EW bitch. EW is the great leveller.
That quick? I thought being able to do it didn't take that long, but being able to afford to do it, then replace it twice, was a different matter? What's the basic skill subset to aim for to usefully play the EW role in a frigate? Apart from, obviously, EW...

Interesting: I'll do what someone suggested in one of the threads and sign into the F13 chat and just lurk about a bit and pick up the feel.
Is the balance of gaming hours USA-ish? I'm Scottish and, despite appearances to the contrary, I work of a day, which makes US hours a lot harder than they used to be when I usually US-guilded on things.
The advantage I've found with that is what seems to be nice, empty lowsec space of a weekend morning. Not that I wasn't terrified when my agents loaded me up with missions to 0.1 on day 2.

Get long range jamming and so forth plus cap skills. Also, propulsion jamming for tackling (that's webbing and warp disrupting ships so they can't get away). Sensor Linking for dampeners/boosters. Weapon disruption for targeting disruptors. I'm probably forgetting loads more. Training them up to 3/4 won't take long at all. As Strazos said, an EW/tackling frig is so cheap the corp should really be handing them out like candy as a few warm bodies operating EW can really turn the tide in battle. Much easier to coordinate, therefore more effective, in small scale engagements too.

Heh, hes not kidding about being the EW-bitch. Basically, that was my ticket. You might have it over me with that secksie accent tho...
Speaking of EW, should I start an EW thread? Cuz I gots some questions you all might be able to help with.
Current status - EW 2 and 11 hours on Electronics 4. Got all the other books (not from Schmael) and it is only a few days until I have what I need skills wise. Just would like some direction on how-to's and wherefores.

With my combat wombat balance of willpower and perception over int/mem that's quite a few days' learning, but I'll get cracking on it while I pester rats and run storyline missions at the moment. While, obvioushly, I shound like Sean (along with all Scots), the accent is rather less of an advantage on textual chat channels than one might hope.

I've been joining the F13 channel since I started up about a week ago. I know corp slots are limited and there is a purge going on.
I would like chime in as a prospective corp member. My character name is "Hurtt".
I'm extremely green, but this community brought me into Eve. I would like to run with F13 if possible. Playtimes are generally late evenings US central time after girlfriend goes to bed.
Thanks,

You can purge Ilya Kuryakin (trotski)- he is taking a break from Eve and canceled last week. If/when he comes back we can try to find room for him then.

I've got no problem with being on a wait list or something. I'm just laying the foundation for my character, so i wouldn't really add much to a corp at this point.

Go ahead and kill off Pope Ziggy. Love Eve in theory, but the long-ass jump times and the lack of feeling that I'm actually piloting something killed it for me. Very depressing, since with a few tweaks this would be the greatest damned game ever. The stuff it lacks are just too glaring for me to ignore, though.

Yeah that is how I usually felt when I quit. This time around playing with a smaller group of people who still do stuff in groups and are fun to be around I haven't had that issue. I've found that if you play it casually and just stick to doing things you find fun its not too bad. I understand that the lack of empathy with your "avatar" is something some really can't get over.
Guess what I'm saying is, I'm always sorry to see someone leave, hope you started a level V skill before you quit just in case you want to come back sometime down the road.

I'm chiming in but only to give consent to booting out Peachestor from F13 if you need the room. I recognize that I've fallen off the face of the earth and if I decide in the next few weeks to make this trend permanent I will at least try to pass along such items that I've accumulated and about 80 million in ISK to the corp collective.
On the other hand, if I decide to keep my account open can I at least transfer to the Bat Country corp for alts? (This assuming that I decide to maintain my current nearly dormant status and that you really need to give the spot to someone who will in all likelihood show up more than me.)

How many people do we actually have in the corp? With Corp Management, it looks like we can have 40 people in a day and a half of training.

Our current max is 40. I think we are down to 35 members now, with the boots. To get Corp Management V it'd take me 8 days.

I'd like a slot on the wait list too please - I just had time this morning to create "Poco Curante" before server downage. This char is templated to Miner, still I'm hardly sentimental and will terminate him if someone would post three/four good base custom templates.
I have a wide streak of "carebear" in me and prefer the gatherer/merchant solo playstyle when not grouped. But I like "hybrid" support chars for group PvP (druid in DAOC, shaman/warlock in WoW - that sort of hybrid). I doubt my accent is sexy but I say stuff like "howdy", "ya'all", and "fixin' to" a lot which seems to cause some folks no end of amusement... ;)

Similarly, I'm keen to get involved, but my characters are just at the learning 3, analytic 4, recall 3->4 stage, so it'll be a fortnight before they have the level 4 engineering, EW, electronics and other higher tier stuff that will make them truely useful.
Plus, I'm in GMT, as mentioned before. So if there are particular roles that are useful "out of hours" let me know and I'll tailor one of them to that.

There's tons of stuff to do in EVE and they are all somewhat entertaining (mining is debatable, but some enjoy it). What I don't want to see is someone following a specific 'path' just because we need someone with that specialty. For at least the beginning stages you should try *everything* you can - see what you enjoy. As you start to get your skills up in whatever area you want (or all of them) and you become interested in learning more about a particular thing (interceptors, battleships, cov ops, ice mining, whatever) then you might very well provide a needed role for the corp. If you are just starting out there are basically three basic types: miners, fighters, and haulers/mission runners. We need all of those, so if you enjoy one of those in particular (or all of them) start working your skills in that direction.. we can always use you. Until you start getting to advanced skills there is not much guiding the corp can do. For those of you who want to join the corp please submit an application - that way we have everyone who's interested and we will start accepting applications to fill the free spots. You can fill out an application at any of our offices (all over), just ask for their locations nearest you on the F13 channel. (Please include your forum name and if you are friends with anyone already in the corp). I will also start learning Corp Management V this weekend, so we'll be up to 50 member limit sometime next week.

I've thrown my lot in with the corp, abandoning the French Wookiees. (Who are really just a bunch of Somebob alts at this point.) I feel the target on my back already.
I'm in Matari space right now, running L3s with a Q10 agent in the Punishment Due ( my BC.) If anyone ever heads out that way we'll nuke some stuff together. I'll probably head down towards Neesher again on Friday evening.

Once you get corp management V, the next skill adds members at +50 a pop. That should solve our problems quickly. We could even merge BC if we wanted - which I do but I know that others may not

GMT players of the world unite?
Seriously, there must be a fair few of us in this timezone either involved with the corp or lurking on the fringes - might be worth figuring out who we are and getting a little more organised around our common interests...

GMT here as well, and also just applied to the corp.
I'm fairly new in Eve also, and have spent my first week or so on trading (Badger II), and now checking out mining (Osprey mining cruiser) and a bit of fighting (Caracal missileboat). 350K skillpoints. Obviously, I have to specialize, but now I am just trying different things to get a feel for it.
I've played with Darniaq, Addryc and others from here in SWG before, where I sported a combover and made composite armor all day.

Gah, and I spent hours slicing that stuff. Nice to see you here, Vedi.
Once I'm done with Auto Assault (reviewing it, I didn't actually buy it), I think I might come back to EVE. WoW is on quasi-perminent hiatus for the time being.
