When your best worlds come from single player games and you're known for MMORPGs, what are you called?
Funcom.
Har. And yes, this is the sequel to the Longest Journey. Go get 'em.

Really must pick this game up, recently replayed Longest Journey and forgave Funcom all it's evils ( again ). Screenshots and previews have got my hype metre up quite high for this title.

Hit 5 stores today to pick it up - none had even received it. Most of them had a copy of 1 on the shelf.

Funcom. Actually, it was the other way around. Funcom was known for the Longest Journey when AO came out and everyone was unsure if they could make a good MMO. I'm looking forward to this. The Longest Journey was one of the more immersive adventure games I've ever played. Besides, I'm dying to know what happened after the ending cutscene.

THE GAME CHECKS MY C: DRIVE TO SEE IF I HAVE ENOUGH SPACE TO RUN THE INSTALLER. WHAT IS THIS? 1995? THE GAME WOULDN'T EVEN FIT ON MY C: DRIVE IF IT WAS EMPTY. THE FUCKING THING ONLY HAS WINDOWS ON IT.
UGH.
Now I feel better. Going to TRY and return this tomorrow.

I like adventure games but I have always been amazed at the poor level of programming in them, especially the installers. I find it so ironic that games which are all about logic and thinking about every possibility have so many bugs in them. The final Myst game still crashes as soon as I try to start the first puzzle.
Sometimes I feel like they try to make a puzzle out of getting the game to boot up.

maybe I'll wait for them to emulate the xbox version on the xbox 360.

2/10 WOULD NOT INGEST

I won't buy it because of the C: thing. My C: partition is like 4GB when empty.
I think I have gone on record saying Funcom is shit.

Been playing the Xbox version for some hours now and I've been real happy with it. They certainly managed to maintain the charm and feeling from the first game, but unless I have magically grown a better brain the puzzles have been dumbed down something fierce.
Still, deffinatly a good game well worth picking up if you have the hankering for an adventure game.

I only have about 2-3 hours in so far but it's darn good so far. That isn't to say they might KOTOR II it.

They leave you hanging in the way that Empire Strikes back did, there's more to be told and Ragnar Törnquist has commented on his blog that if he by for some unforseen reason would not be able/allowed to do a Longest Journey 3 he would release the remainding part as a comic, book or just release it all on the net. But no, the game doesn't KOTOR II.

In my honest opinion, I think the first 3/4 are a pretty good semi-interactive movie, but the last 1/4 screams of "we ran out of time/budget, shove it out the door, we'll leave the rest for a sequel". I just felt it suddenly went south and left far too much unresolved. Like reading the middle book of a trilogy, almost.
YMMV.

I'd advise WAP to avoid this game based on his comments about the ships computer in EVE...

Couldn't play it past Chapter 3 without getting sick from the retarded control scheme. Is it better with a controller than with the keyboard/mouse combo?

I found inverting the mouse on both axis helped a ton.
But I agree - the control scheme isnt the best. Combat really stinks in general.

Luckely the games total amount of combat is around 5 minutes + how many times you repeat training. But yes, it was retarted and was a feature they could've dropped completly.

Just finished playing and am a bit sad it's all over.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone. I laughed so hard at crows joke about the guy that followed him in winning the sidekick badge.
Great story. Decent sound. Not horrid voice acting.
I'd definitely agree it's an Empire Strikes Back, it really leaves you wanting the next installment.

Is it also an ESB in that it's better than the first one?

Is it also an ESB in that it's better than the first one? I thought the humor was very much better. When I finished TLJ I didn't think, "Gee - I really want a sequal!" when I finished this, I thought, "I really want to see this story played out." Of course, it could have been I liked Zoe's voice.
