That's at least $1 every time TPM ends. I recommend getting ahold of The Phantom Edit if you have any urge to survive more than a few one viewing though.
I could watch the saber battle between Darth Maul, Qui-Gon and Obi-Won over and over. It's the rest of the movie I'd have a hard time sitting through.

Repeatedly having to hear, "Are you an Angel?" repeatedly would certainly make me question if the flashy battles are worth it.
Maybe Schild can get a job as an editor and perform a community service by saving us all from horrible dialog at the same time.

I spent my high school and college years in retail. Just under a decade of retail to be exact. I'm not sure I can go back to that
Sounds like you're being awfully fussy for someone with no qualifications. Open a paper, look for trades work. Painting, framing, roofing, etc. Maybe there's a machine shop in your area willing to take on a newbie. If those choices sound too physical, and you apparently can't go back to retail then I'd say your motivation to work isn't sufficiently developed. Who the hell let my mom into the thread? Awfully hard to argue with the logic, though.

Good point. If you can stomach it, farming gold and items can be a lucrative business... and you did say you have a couple roomies that you could exploit hire for assistance. But seriously, are there any universities nearby? Check the listings for jobs in their IT departments. It is a goodo way to get some experience under your belt in the IT field, even if it isn't making games. In addition, while the pay may be less than a comparable position in the industry, universities often have really good benefits and offer free schooling. You could get your Masters for free while working there, and job security is usually decent as well.

Donating plasma got me through college. You can give plasma a lot more often than blood although if you go 3 times a week your arms start to get really sore.

I think this is your area? http://www.bloodbanker.com/plasma/centers/category/phoenix/Looks like they'll only let you do twice a week. $20 for the first and $25 for the second. That's cheaper than I remember. When I was going it was 5 times in a rolling 2 week period and if you hit the 5th donation is was $55 with the prior one's scaling up to that. If you were willing to collapse your veins you could make about $400/month.

I work part-time as a golf caddy on a nice course. It's a great job if you have other interests, of which mine is writing a novel. You can generally set your own schedule, work however many days a week you want, and make about $100 a day with tips. Suprisingly you don't have to deal with a lot of dickheads since the people on the golf course are usually happy to be there and out of the office. I like it a hell of a lot more than my old desk job, and I've lost 35 pounds.

You could probably make $2k to $4k a month by putting Google Adsense text ads on F13. It even comes with an advertiser blacklist so you could ban IGE ads or whatever if you want. It would be interesting to see what context sensitive ads Google comes up with for the different threads.

Over here it's not legal to pay for plasma... and somehow we still have enough (I went two days ago and just signed up as a potential bonemarrow donor). Your system sucks.

I'm a bone marrow donor as well. Actually got the call last year that my name came up as a potential match. It came down to myself and one other person as the donor. Turns out he was a slightly better match than I was so I didn't have to donate.
Was worried about it giving the procedure is an actual medical procedure and all but it wasn't something I could ever say no to seeing as that's why I'm on the list.

I think the last bit of this thread has probably got that getting a job nonsense out of Schild's system. The suggestions seem to have become rather gruesome.

Just don't drink too much of the coffee. At the Starbucks around here, the employees look like they've got a blood-caffeine-content of > 50%. I'm just waiting for one to explode, spontaneously combust, and/or go postal.

If you do in fact have an art degree, why not take a job in retail to finance schooling for a year or two in order to get your teaching cert? Then you can teach High School art. You make 25-30K a year with summers off and no work to bring home. Teaching has to be more fulfilling than being another cog in the capitalist juggernaut, although I wouldn't know. I've only experienced the latter.

Except the problem being the $25-30K per year paycheck. Not so appealing, even with summers off.

Yeah, but do you make more than that in retail? I honestly don't know, if you do, I'm sure you have to work a lot more than a schoolday, including summers. He'd be able to to something else with the extra time, like play Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne again. I'd probably teach if I wasn't in law school.

Yeah, but do you make more than that in retail? No. Or not unless you are a regional manager of some kind, which usually involves doing the shit pay work as a manager for quite a while, and buttkissing your regional manager long enough that he gets promoted and you fail upward.

Seriously... the numbers you people throw around as a "meh" salary. It makes me feel like I'm living in the third world.
Anyways, I have a friend that lives solely off google adds. He makes around $3k a month, after he pays for the GADZILLION sites he slaves over. So google ads might not be that bad an idea - I'm sure people here would click on them while they browse around to support the site.

As a matter of fact I swallowed one of these about two hours ago and the explanation is that it is, in fact, my hand.

Oh, I got a job last week. Unfortunately it doesn't start until 2 days after E3. I could get a job inbetween (and I might) but I don't know if I want to. There's a lot of games I want to finish and I'm not exactly desperate. So I figure I'll chronicle the next month in picture form. He could actually go back to college for a marketable degree...
Don't be a wiseass. I plan on going to get a Masters I just have no clue what to get it in. I've no driving ambition to become something at the moment. teaching I thought about that for a while. But I hate kids. Not young adults though, and if I do go back to school, it'd probably be so I could teach. google ads Yes. It just hasn't been implemented yet.
