So I'm getting all the credentials together for the f13 E3 crackteam and assuming they let us in (which they should, since everything is in order), there will be four of us. So, who else is going?

If I wasn't working full time now, I would have been going. Oh well....maybe next year, if I go to grad school in either Bakersfield or Northridge.

I might go.  Not sure yet.  Last time I went to E3 on my own dime I had someone to crash with, but this time around I'd have to actually cough up for a hotel, and that ain't cheap in downtown LA.

Would they need to be sober?

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

New York is filled with opinions assholes. You all have Toy Fair. Consider yourself lucky that convention even exists anymore. Even the porn convention that used to ride on Toy Fair's Coattails has moved out west.

May 10th-12th.

Can't make it then. Let's have an F13 party in Vegas over Memorial Day weekend instead!

How about Phoenix. It's easier and 3 of us F13ers live in one big house. Two others live within 30 miles. One more lives an hour and a half away or so. Also, there are a good number who could probably fly here for uhm, Not much.

Oh, and we have casinos.

You may have casinos, but I have reservations. And Vegas has free nootch and sportsbooks.

Vegas is also above my paygrade and doesn't have enough video games or STD free bitches to amuse me unless I have sweet tickets to a show or the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders in my suite. And by suite I mean my suite suite pants.

Vegas is one of the cheaper places to fly to and stay in, as long as you ignore the siren call of gambling.

I'm interested due to my time constraints being minimal, but I also have budget problems. Do you know what this escapade would cost ballpark? Assume you're flying from Atlanta.

Are you talking about Vegas or E3?

If E3 wasn't such a colossal pain in the ass I'd go in a heartbeat.  But it is a pain in the ass.  LA airfare + LA traffic + cost of LA hotels = ow.  Having someone to crash with or a corporate credit card is invaluable.

I would go to E3 but I think I would get bored.  I really couldn't give a fuck about console games and I doubt they would let me rant at some PC developer about pvp features for very long before they would ask me to leave kill me.

Plus I dont think I'm qualified to actually provide insight into anything there, I would most likely spend most of my time trying to steal things related to Supreme Commander.

There's insight to be provided at E3?

I was under the impression it was getting eyefucked by marketing-designed displays and materials telling me how OMFGWTFBBQKKTHX XTR33M the next version of Madden is going to be while a developer broods quietly in the corner as his baby is murdered by the schlocks  IGN passes off as "press".

The only "press" you really need at E3 is a pair of thumbscrews.

Too bad my sister just moved out of LA about a month back.  I could have used some of my vacation time and crashed on her couch.  Ah well, if I ever make it to any convention I'd probably spend a week in lovely San Diego and go to Comic-Con.  At least I can afford a lot of comics.  At E3 I'd just be looking at games I wouldn't be able to buy until a year after they're released.

I'd love to go. Accreditation would be easy, but I'd never get my boss to pay and I'm quite sure, that me going to LA on my own dime would be voted down by the missus real quick... and since I leave her alone with the kids at least 4-5 times a year to go to exotic locations and "work", while she's stuck in a job that involves no travelling, I kinda owe her at this time.
... maybe when both kids are old enough to stay with the grandparents I can bring her along and finally go to E3. Otoh GDC sounds much more interesting.

Yeah but other people might be well liked, or something, I dunno.  If Samwise was driving down from SF I would be happy to split gas fare with him and come I suppose.  I should probably look into room prices before I go saying things like that.  Also the whole nerfed booth babes thing sort of sucks.

I think what I meant to say was I'm sure three others who are more qualified to "rep" f13 can be found.  Yeah there we go, plus Schild could be a smelly old man for all I know, I've said it before but turning internet people into RL people sort of scares me.  Although my experience with FPS lanparties was around 90% positive in that regard so I am not sure why.

Yeah, the thing is I have never met a PC gamer that could come anywhere close to some of the horrors I have been submitted to while being in a table-top/PnP/ccg venue.  Dear god I dont understand how some people can be that fat.

I knew one MUDer that was far more gross than any of the MTG/DnD players I knew, but he was definitely an exception to any rule.

I used to run security for an anime/RPG/LARP/webcomics/gaming convention. We had precisely that breed of person all over conspace for a whole weekend.

Only they were in costume. Well, technically speaking at least. Often there simply wasn't enough 'costume' for the 'in' part. Think about this. Then think about them playing DDR or swinging a boffer around.

Informing them of the con's Public Decency rule and then having them bodily ejected was much fun, provided I had a minion to do the 'bodily' part for me. Especially considering it would often be around 5 degrees Fahrenheit at noon when we held the con.

Ok. Why is it that finding a decent sized picture of the actual Yuna that is hotlinkable seems to be the hardest thing to do on the internet? I mean, it's near fucking impossible. I don't want a huge picture, small picture or fat Yuna. But finding fat Yuna is easier than finding free porn. This is Not Amusing. Goddamn internet.

Why is Yuna so fucking popular among cosplaying Fat Chicks? Is she the Martin Luther Fucking King of video game heroines? Does she stand for that much hotness and respect that she just must be cosplayed. Fuck, FFX2 was balls. There were words like "disasteriffic" in there. It was just. UGH. Goddamnit.
