Thats a cool thread, now I have a couple of things to look forward to. I didn't even know 90% of those games were coming out - I guess thats what happens when you stop reading gaming magazines and reading forums instead of gaming "news" sites.

I post nearly all the worthwhile news I can find. These next 5 weeks will be slow (leading up to E3).  Seems like the guy left a couple things out and listed a couple things that aren't available til '07, but it's a nice overview of the year to come.

I hope you didn't take that as a jab. I'm sure I've seen some of those mentioned somewhere but it's easy to forget .. where as a few screenshots catch the eye and help you remember.  wink

Hell no it wasn't a jab. That's a useful thread.

And damn, I forgot about Metronome.

Aw man, is DirectX10 really coming out this year? That officially means every single graphics card out right now will not be able to even attempt to display the full graphics of the games using it. Unless it's an upgrade where functionality can be patched into to graphics card drivers, this sucks.

awesome thread thx for head's up.

almost half-way through list between checking official sites

"Another Webzen MMORPG"  says it all

"Bastard! Online A MMORPG from Tecmo"  also says it all, and the screenshot shows it all.  Nice.

Given the delay to Vista for consumers the answer is most likely no. It'll be included with the business versions of Vista but it probably won't be made into a standalone download until the consumer versions ship next year.

Games are just starting to support Shader Model 3.0 fully. It'll be a while before they start using Shader Model 4.0 in DirectX 10.

Stuff.

Always with the elf boobies, eh?

Anyhow, great find, thanks.  Mmmmm.. new Jagged Alliance.  Lot of good stuff in there I didn't know was on the horizon.  Plus, with my new PC I'll be able to play most of them in pretty mode. Yay!

Things I'm interested in...

Total War, obviously, more than likely GotY to all thinking humans, just like every over Total War game was.
Dragonage, not believing it will be any more than a 10 hour story driven romp, but that can't be a bad thing.
Battlestar Galactica, it's based on FS2, and it's battlestar galactica - but on the computer, and it's years since a decent space combat game turned up. Old-skool BSG mod pls.
Sam and Max 2, if it ever happens. I have my doubts.
Hellgate : London, against my better judgement.
Space Empires 5, nuff said.
HL2 Aftermath I would be interested in, but won't buy because steam sucks donkey balls.

In other news, PC gaming still continues to be 'dead'. Just like it has been since 1990.

On a personal note, I object to the fact I don't have anywhere near enough 'free time' to take a stab at everthing that looked interesting in there.

I think I'm in love! Old-school, stylized adventure games. It's 1991 all over again! I need to go dig up my Ace of Base CDs and my Home Improvement boxed set.

Ace of Base

If you knew anything about the grand tradition of Swedish crap-rock (ABBA, etc) you'd realize that Ace of Base was more of a 1995 phenomena.

1991?  That's the craziest fucking thing I've ever heard.

Uhm, that was when they were most popular in the US. 1990 to 1992 or thereabouts. Well forgotten by 1995.

I should get back to nature, too.  You know, like going to a shop for groceries instead of the computer.  Maybe a condo in the woods that doesn't even have a health club or restaurant attached.  Buy a car with only two cup holders or something. -Signe

The Sign came out in America in 1993. By the end of 1993 Ace of Base was dead. Post 1993 it was played on the radio as a joke.

I'd have posted earlier but I remembered how the song went and I lost my sense of sight for 3 hours.

I might have to pick Caesar IV up when it comes out.  It looks pretty, and I loved me some Caesar II.

There's at least 3 UBISoft titles on there. And then there's anything that comes out of eastern europe. So......40% of them. Another 40% will be delayed or canceled. The last 20% will hit store shelves with 1-3 copies and you'll have to order online or make damn sure you preordered. Ya know, par for the course.

What was that about the death of PC gaming again?

Or is it just the death of non-fucked-up PC gaming?
