This is hardly a topic but considering the low interest in this forum a new thread wasn't going to hurt.

Got my pre-ordered DDO delivered to me by courier yesterday.  Put the dvd in - and was immediately told the set-up files were corrupt and the program needed to be replaced.

I don't have the will to pursue this matter beyond this post.  Hopefully DDO's initial box sales will keep it afloat for awhile.  After all - they have my purchase   undecided

Thanks for that.

I just shudder... the game is still born out of the box unless you download it...

I can't wait for the other surprises.

Wait.  I can.

We've actually had very few reports of corrupted DVDs, but I am sorry that yours had a problem. The link Arthur posted will get you started though.

Getting a physically damaged or mispressed CD or DVD is pretty rare in my experience but it does happen. I bought the CE version of AOE III about a month ago and disc 1 was bad so I exchanged the entire package and those discs were fine.

Edit: "bad" as in mispressed since there were no visible scratches on that disc

Okay downloaded the software from the link.

It's Saturday night - and all the servers are down.

Sigh. You really are having some bad luck with DDO. :( This is the first unscheduled downtime (crash) since we launched a week ago. I'm sorry you've had such a rocky start.

Well, you can't fault the customer focused Developers at any rate....

Yeah....it crashed both Saturday (3/4) and Sunday (3/5) night for me, too....Hopefully....today's (3/6) scheduled downtime will fix some of these issues.

For me, what really *sucked* about Saturday's crash was I lost some really good armor and weapon drops due to the crash.....Oh well...life goes on... undecided

No doubt, plus it's not like I didn't know this was opening week of a MMORPG.  Anyone not NCsoft still can't get the launch right.  Hopefully 3rd night is the charm for my cathedral group.

Ok, so my sub-conscious is hopelessly anal.

I think you wanted "Auspicious" in the title. The Auspices are rather long since gone.

Also, I think you may mean inauspicious. An auspicious beginning is a good omen or a sign of good times to come.
