I've tried to figure it out and now I am ready to swallow my pride and just ask:  where in the profile do you add text that appears under your avatar?

If you don't have a line called "Custom Title" under the "Forum Profile Information" link in your profile page, it's probably something only we can add.

I think the confusion is: we can fill out a field called "Personal Text" but it doesn't show up.

Yeah, don't use that field, use Custom Title if you have it.

As pond scum, many of us don't have access to that feature.

Here is a tip.  Post a incoherent rant lambasting one of the admins here, then claim that you WTFBBQPWNED them.  It works!

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

I accidentally gave someone a grief title this week, just do your best and anything can happen!  Hello Kitty

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

Nebu, is your post count new or have I just been unobservant?

It is a grief postcount given to me by the people that run the site.  I earned it by rabidly stating that I thought postcount was an idiotic concept best appreciated by the mouth-breathers on VN.  When they explained the merits of postcount from their view, I had to own up to the fact that I was wrong.  Some time later, this postcount was bestowed upon me.  Don't ask me when... I think it took one of them telling me for me to even notice.

That's the best explanation I have and I'm sticking with it.

My custom title is extremely outdated.

It's accurate, sure, but it's not funny anymore. So it's outdated.

Still, I don't do much else.  So I guess it's good enough.

That was the real reason they hid Nebu's post count.  It made everyone feel inferior.

Apparently there's a bug somewhere in the post counting/display code. As of right now his profile is showing 118650 posts but if you look at the forum breakdown that only adds up to around 1200 posts.

So this begs the question - what use does the "Personal Text" field have if it doesn's show up anywhere?

Oh, and I wanted to check to see if my avatar is finally going to start showing up.  I can see it in my profile finally.

I think someone must have hijacked Cheddar's normally happy go lucky persona. Or he's on pills or something.

I'm wondering, what percentage of people went to their profile to check to see if they had been magically granted the ability to modify their title....
