The hard part is concentrating to understand what they're saying through their accents. The echos don't help either.

Also, I wouldn't call that sand.. I'd call it the whole fuckin' beach.

Can't you allow guild bank access without letting someone log into your account? Or is there not a "guild bank" function in WoW, like EQ2.

Any "guild bank" in WoW is a character created especially to hold coin and goods.

Unfortunatly all being in a guild grants you in wow is a chat channel and a tabbard and a tab in your social interface to show who is in your guild.

The funny thing about raiding is its not so much the raids I dislike I enjoy a good fight in interesting areas but I cannot tolerate the god damn drama anymore.

So EQ2 has better guild feature sets than WoW. I'm actually surprised. Of course, I think it took an expansion for that to happen, but still, it's funny.

Also, drama is why I'm not in any "serious" guilds anymore. All 3 of the guilds I've been heavily involved with have usually had MAJOR drama whether it was called for or not.

A Guild bank would be a welcome feature, but I'm not sure it would stop DRAMA.

I don't think HD had any real serious drama, unless I was oblivious to something major?  Maybe I just have thicker skin?

EH? You must have missed that night on TS when the leader and his wife pretty much ended their marriage, which started with the leader smashing his computer into little bits after yet another SB.exe at a tense moment.

And no, that leader wasn't me.

Lol.  Post that.
I don't think anyone logged it.

And I now can't recall if it was TS or it was in officer chat. But it was ugly, brought on by a lot of frustration over the loopholes and stupidity in the city warfare design of SB.

We had a marriage split in our alliance that almost broke it up. The wife was one of the leaders, and she was sleeping with...one of the OTHER leaders because they were friends IRL. The ex-husband went beserk obviously. He split his guild up and tried to sink the alliance, but basically just ended up making himself look like a giant douche and he transferred off the server. Now the new couple are still raid leaders, and since I'm MT we're supposedly "in this together" to some people. I'm like, hey I'm not banging either of them.

Stop it?  It would just unlock a whole new world of drama to explore!  Just imagine when the uber dildo of catassery goes missing from the guild vault...  Thumbs up!

I recall the marriage breaking up in the HD guild, but I didn't realize that part of that breakup had made it into teamspeak/officer chat (though I wish I had been there, watching other people's misery is good stuff).  However, with that case or in the case of your description here, I can't imagine that the marriage was healthy outside of the game, and I can't imagine the breakup really had anything to do with the game (other than, like ALL things in life, the game was a vehicle for the frustrations of the couple.. if they didn't play the game the marriage would have probably broken up over sharing of the remote control, or the toilet seat being up or down, etc)..

But I do apologize Haemish, I guess you are bad luck for guilds.. :)

We had a rl relationship (living together) breakup in UO.  The guild leader and guild mistress.  Yeah, that put a damper on things for a few months.  They left and we moved on.

And they say these games aren't real...Bullocks!

Yeah, marriages don't break up because of games, they can just exacerbate the problems already there.

Guilds are bad luck for me. :) I can only say that I caused the drama once, but I feel I was justified. Maybe 1 and a half times.

Wow, getcha is a cockmaster, if he were my guild leader and I heard him on vent with that attitude and I'd tell him to choke on it and /gquit right then and there.

My favorite quote:

Whiny chick: "The point is we want to get along with our guild leader.. you are our leader, we came to the guild becuase we knew you were good at doing the game, we dont' want to not like you, we don't want to feel like it's the getcha and (somebody- uterp?) show."

Cockmaster: "Sack up.. Sack up, that's all I can tell you. I'm sorry. You know what? You're going to run into people like me in the real fucking world and I guess you're just gonna get walked on.

Whiny Chick: "No, no, I don't get walked on."

Cockmaster: "Apparently you do if I intimidate you over a fucking microphone in a game."

Whiny Chick: "Because you scream and yell and call me a bitch? That's not intimidating that's just rude"

Dissapointed to hear you say this though bud - guilds have their problems - but this stuff is MORPGS Gerry Springer style.  I have had a lot of great guilds - I only left for RL reasons - have all your guild experiences been bad?

Maybe we should have a Guild recommend list in some of our forums.

EQ1 also has a pretty decent amount of Guild utilities.

Of course they came in after I stopped playing, but there are (instanced) guild halls, a guild bank (the person putting stuff in can set flags on each specific item limiting who can take the stuff back out). The guild halls have a merchant in them, as well as a guild teleport thingy, so one person buys the gem of setting-where-this-opens, sets it and the whole guild can zone through, Lemmings-style.

And yeah, Cockmaster sounded like just the kind of guy you'd want to slap silly if he tried that bigman shit IRL.

I sure hate the internet "big men" like Getcha. If he's such a badass, why is he spending his life catassing on a computer, bullying whiney women and rednecks with strange accents?

I can just picture the guy: short and fat with a crappy tattoo. He has one earring, and he drives a Mistubishi Eclipse.

Much, much, much better.

In WoW a guild is a chat and a tabard. There's really nothing else in the game that recognizes a guild as a structure. Maybe the timers to lock the instances, but that's it.

There wasn't an aftermath thread. I don't even remember who else was on teamspeak when it happened. And it's not funny unless you were there. I mean, I'm kinda giggling recalling it. But it would really lose it's spice. I think I have a humorous screenshot of what I renamed their teamspeak channel though.
