Fucking shit.  That's why I got into work this morning and found that my system had rebooted, my system PATH variable had reverted to its factory default, and a bunch of my applications no longer work.  Great.

If for some reason you don't want to run IE you can start here:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms06-feb.mspx

You'll need to manually figure out which patches are applicable to your system (e.g. the first critical patch only applies to Windows 2K users) and download them and apply them individually. It really is easier just to let Windows Update do it for you.

I always use IE for the patches.  It reminds me of why I love Firefox.
