Every time I log on in the mornings, the same Eurofaces running around the boards doing last minute posts like mice in the wainscotting.

Waiting for the big guys to wake up so our witty and acerbic comments can get recognised.

It's strange sometimes.

And lonely.

So very, very lonely.

I know how you feel. I would say lets be lonely together. But that would be both oxymoronic and kind of gay. So for the children, lets not.

What bothers me most about it is you come into an argument/discussion and make your points and then, as you sleep, the whole conversation drifts and changes to something else and when you come back in with your 'new idea' you get "Are you still talking about that ?"

Also, denned posts that you never even got to be bad in.  That's not cool.

I find it frankly strange that the whole discussion of the European Muslim Problem (tm) was denned before the Euros had woken up.

It's one reason I don't post much, hard to stay part of a discussion when 90% of it happens at times I'm not around. The other reason of course being that I don't actually have much to say.

I don't have a Euroface.  This is my sleepy face.  I usually get up around 5 or 6 AM and I have sleep problems.  I took a something to make me sleep last night, though, so I'm a wee bit late this morning.

Oh and just shuddup if you don't like our company!  If you're lonely, hire a hooker.

But hiring hookers is morally wrong even if not illegal. Can we booze up instead?

Yeah, sure, I don't care.  You'll probably end up making more sense than usual that way.

Only in America. Those liberal Europeans even have sex before marriage, smoke pot and drive cars unencumbered with several hundredweight of safety features. They're all going to hell.

I post anyways and go on my merry way.  It's not like they are going to respect your viewpoint in the first place, so who cares if they want to get a little bitchy about drifing back to a previous topic?

That other site will allow us to talk about Muslims.  But the mods here are servants of radical Islam.

As far as emissaries of American culture go we could do worse then Haemish I suppose.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

Like John Bolton, perhaps. I am always amused when I read the news and see Condi touring the Middle East. Just because we respect women in our country, doesn't mean Middle Easterners respect them in their country.

A US music competition based on the Eurovision Song Contest is being developed by American network NBC.

The programme is intended to challenge American Idol, a ratings winner which is screened on rival network Fox.

A grand final with a singing representative from each US state and public voting is planned.

"Eurovision is the granddaddy of all talent shows and the Super Bowl of singing," said Ben Silverman, chairman of series producers Reveille.

Renowned

An online competition will be held to find singers from each US state to go forward to the grand final, with the winner landing a recording contract.

Further details of the new contest are still in development, while it is expected to become a series rather than a one-off event.

Fox's American Idol has continually scored well in the ratings, recently trouncing the Grammy Awards.

American Idol attracted 28m viewers, compared to 15m for the prestigious Grammys event which saw U2 walk away with five trophies and featured live performances from Madonna and Coldplay.

Award winner Kelly Clarkson, whose career was launched by American Idol, failed to mention the programme in her Grammy acceptance speech.

The Eurovision Contest has been running for 50 years and helped to launch the careers of Swedish pop group Abba and Canadian singer Celine Dion, both of whom were winners.

At last year's contest in Kiev, a record 39 countries from across Europe participated, with Helena Paparizou capturing a first win for Greece.

The annual event, which is watched by millions around the world, is renowned for its wide-ranging performances and voting procedure.

Each country taking part gives votes for its favourite entries, most of which are determined by television viewers, while voting for your own country is forbidden.
