Yes, apparently "they" do. Free Games for the Mac. Oh and PC too. Macgamesandmore.com has announced the release of a new game called, "Antigen" developed for both Mac and PC. Antigen is a free game declared under a Creative Commons License.
With the classic, "old school" shoot 'em up (shmup) games in mind, Antigen requires players to use typical key controls to battle the unlimited number of levels in this fast-paced action game for the die-hard traditionalists.
Antigen takes a player into a world of germs, viruses, bacteria and toxins that are attempting to destroy the ship of the player. The player's mission is to annihilate these villainous substances in order to survive and continue on to what will hopefully be a long journey.
With the help of a radar minimap at the bottom of the screen, players will have an overview of the enemies approaching the ship. Additionally, there is a running count located at the bottom left of the screen that will indicate three items: 1) which wave is being played; 2) how many enemies are left; and, 3) how many lives are remaining. Sometimes and oftentimes unexpectedly, certain viruses will throw bonuses at the players to collect. The player must then use these bonuses to his advantage.
The graphics showcase hard, metallic edges juxtaposed against soft, drippy germs, while the audio backdrop to Antigen adds to the fast-moving atmosphere within the game play featuring three quick-tempo rock tracks.
Antigen is free of charge and available to download at the Mac Games and More website. For all you people with Macs, here you go, free gaming goodness or something.

Actually as an aside i'm a long time mac user who also maintains a kick arse PC just for gaming. Games on the mac are fewer, and arrive later, but they tend to be AAA titles well implemented and less buggy than PC counterparts. Case in point - i stopped playing SB on my PC when i was playing it and soley played on the mac. Framerate was worse but sb.exe barely existed on my powerbook.

Same with Righ. He keeps a PC around just for games though if the game is offered for the Mac, that's what he prefers to use. I don't work with computers anymore so I just have a nicely specced out gaming PC. If I were going to do anything other than play games, I'd have a Mac, too.

I agree. I would rather gimp my productivity apps than my games.

That used to be my setup back in the good old days when I was doing graphic and typographic design work. Eventually it became too expensive to maintain a dual setup and enough graphics apps got ported over to Windows that I just stopped getting Macs. Now, however, I'm comtemplating getting a Mac Mini just to do Ruby on Rails development (all the cool Rails developers use Macs :-D) and to run this app (watch the Rails screencasts to understand what I'm talking about).

I'm using it. I discovered it when I decided to figure out how to build the YubNub sources locally, which is of course a Ruby on Rails app.

You are using TextMate? Does it support Emacs key bindings? I looked through the documentation but didn't see anything about that.

Interesting thanks. Inspired by your links I found this one which makes it sound like it'll do what I would want it to do (I just need the Emacs editing keys really).

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something. We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

It's had a number of the trivial Emacs key bindings since before I got it, which is good, I need the basic Readline ones. It's a nice editor, can be launched from applications easily, can launch other applications easily, stores state information (such as last cursor postion) in metadata attributes, can run shell functions to do transformations, etc. It does more than I'll likely ever do with an editor, and using tools I'm far more familiar with than elisp.

Isn't this game the one co-designed by some kid with a terminal illness, and put together as some kind of "make a wish" thing?

Same. And TextMate is a pretty damn nice editor.
