Just a an update for those of you have I haven't seen in game- I ended up buying a Rifter BPO. My alt has it a couple systems from Neesher doing ME research on it, so just holler if you need a new disposable frigate to fly. I figured it would be nice to have some extras around for PvP tackling and the like in the future.

I may or may not use both of my Basic I, depending on how many Miner II I want to fit. I think I'll just unfit one and leave it in Neesher for you, how about that? Or, I remember there were some for sale ~5 jumps from Neesher, which is where I got mine.

I'll look around next time I fly back to Gall core, which should be next time I play if there is no mining op. Drones seem cheaper (and I assume BP as well) there as well, if anyone wants to request any.

I just put 20 warrior drones in the hanger in Arzi, so if any of you miners need combat drones go ahead and grab some. I would have bought thermal drones but they were too many more jumps and for my purposes (finishing off frigate npc's that get under my guns) explosive is better because they shouldn't have any shields left if I'm not screwing up.

Tech2 BPOs only come from the tech2 lottery, even for something as mundane as Miner IIs, I think. BPC, that should be doable, but it may require morphite and some RAMs to manufacture as well as specialized skills. Tech2 manufacturing is nasty.

I didn't see Miner II on the escrow market in Essence (Gall market region). I did, however, get a Hob I BPO because I feel that we need one.

As we were discussing last night during our mining run, I think it would serve us well to procure an indy BPO or two. Maybe an Iteron III (I have heard they better than II and IV), and maybe a Caldari (Badger?). We will eventually need to be able to replace them in deep space, and flying them 20 jumps from their purchase area is painful.

We don't need that many indies, so a BPC would work just fine. We can buy some with 10-20 runs for a badger, and one for an iteron. We can always buy another one if we end up needing more. Ship BPOs are pretty expensive, so it'd be better to have a BPC of ones we only need a few of.

My thought was that we could gin up a couple of extras and sell them to other folks in the region. If there are no ships within 15 jumps, folks might just pay a premium for convenience.

Sure, we can do that with BPCs too .. let me check the prices on BPCs vs BPOs..
[edit to include below]
Badger MkII BPO: 15mil BPC: 980k at 20ME for 10 runs (98k a run). Guesstimating we'd break even at 154 runs.
Iteron MkIII BPO: 9.5mil BPC: couldn't find a Mk3, just a Mk4 which was 175k at 20ME for 1 run. Guesstimating we'd break even at 63 runs.
I guess the hard part is finding the BPCs. Of course, this is just the Kor-Azor region, so we'd probably find cheaper/more copies in the market regions.

You can set escrow to browse globally. It's doubtful that an Iteron Mk3 would sell well, since most people just would use that as a stepping-stone on the way to Iteron 5s, which are wonders of shit-moving technology.

Any chance someone in a big market area could pick up some 200/400/800/maybe even 1600mm nano plate BPOs? Those are always a pain to find down by Neesher.

Nano Plate doesn't have a BPO, they're "named" items that only drop as loot.

Hey WAP,
The Rifter is my frigate of choice and I'll probably be flying them for a long time to come. When I lost a couple to pirates and in the wars I replaced them from the hangar which I was instructed to do. But now I'd just like to have a few extra 'in pocket' at the Neesher station and to pre-stage and outfit at Arzi for example. What do I need to get you in order to run off a few more; the minerals, the isk, both? I'm happy to help out however I can and don't want to just freeload.
More generally about equipment in the Corp hangar... what is the deal with items that appear but are 'greyed out'... has someone sort of locked down these items or what? I'm not questioning the motive I'm just curious what in fact is going on, I have no idea.
And as far as items go; when I'm ratting or running rat missions I tend to drop stuff off into the hangar for others to pick and choose (the way I do when I'm outfitting my ships) but now I'll know to be more selective about the good, named stuff. Lately I've been refining the type of junk that we already have a dozen of but if it seems special I'll be sure to leave it for others who can use it.

Someone has put something in the container. When it goes it, it gets locked. So if you grab something and then put it back - it's then locked. I don't know how the permissions are set for unlocking, but try clicking on the item and selecting unlock. Occasionally I'll just select all then hit unlock.

I tossed a couple of the ME 16 BPCs in the corp hangar- the BPO will be ME 21 sometime tomorrow, so I will run off some more copies then. If you have the mins, the BPs in the corp hangar are fair games as far as I am concerned.

You can unlock items in Open cans, so if you see something in there that you want that's greyed just unlock it. The other cans will prompt you for a password, so if you get a password box (and you don't know the password) you probably aren't suppose to unlock it. However, if there is a password protected item that you want, we can probably give it up if you just ask.

I'm actually curious to how the whole BPC/BPO stuff works.
I have mining lvl1, and I put every piece of loot either in my personal hanger (if I think I'll get the best use out of it) or in the corp hanger in Arzi/Neesh. So I'm not reprocessing anything either.
I'd like to be able to just ask for something built and pay in cash for the item, I would assume it would still be slightly cheaper then open market prices, plus I dont have to go searching for shit (which means I would probably pay over market price, I hate shopping trips). But I'm thinking, that most people with personal mineral stashes dont really have them to make shit for me, even if they are getting paid. So what is the solution?
Should the corp itself have big buy orders for ship building minerals in various market hubs that are trucker'd into the Neesh area from time to time then bought by invidual corp members for <x>isk when they are short some minerals for a ship or if they are like me and never mine?
Or should I just put up my own buy orders, buy my own minerals and use them?
Case in point:
I need 4 punishers (we have the bpo) and I need a bunch of light and medium drones and I think we have some drone BPO's. But I'm not sure how to go about getting them, and I dont want to make stupid demands that are unrealistic because I have never done any mining/building/researching.

Reprocess your non-named loot, or get something with a high refining skill to do it if you want to squeeze out every last drop, and use the minerals to build your own stuff with the corp BPOs.

Is there any skill that is required to build something/anything given that the corp has the BPO? Can we screw it up if we don't know what we're doing? Can it be built anywhere (that the BPO is, I mean) or is there a service required at the station, etc?

can't screw it up.
Just have to move the required minerals into a corp hanger
and pssst - little secret - the corp account pays for the manufacturing bay.

If you plan on doing manufacturing in any quantity, especially of anything larger than ammo, I strongly recommend picking up Production Efficiency and sinking the day it takes to get it to PE 3. You'll save yourself (and the corp) a lot of minerals in the long run. If you want to make cruisers, go for PE 4. PE 5 takes a long time, but if you're investing in a battleship or something of similar mineral intensity, then asking someone with PE 5 (hi Caad!) or getting it yourself is a very worthwhile investment.
