I use an ATI card (9800 pro) and I encountered this problem intermittantly when I was playing. Now that I am thinking of starting again it's good to know I won't have to worry about it.

I have the same problem with EQ2 and my ATI card. Going to update my drivers and see if the fix works. Thanks for the update!

I agree, but it'll take more than a week. However, some people have these issues that have been resolved and it is for them that I posted this. I will be using the 6.1's as soon as I get home and when there's an Omega version I'll switch to that.

Tell us how it works on EQ2 - that crashing bug is a pain in the arse. I got stuck in the Wizard Tower in SQ and crash-relogged 6 times to get out. That and my character selection screen crashes too so I have to quick-login.

The best part of SWG was the easy account cancellation process.

Very nice. I have had occasional problems with EQ2 and WoW... EQ2 mostly seemed to do it when my SK was casting spells. WoW was a bit more random, and didn't deal with it as well... but was less frequent, too. Hopefully this works.

Played EQ2 for about an hour with 6.1 and had no crashes. I used to get a few in that amount of time. I have a 9700 pro. I've noticed on the EQ2 forums that some people are saying it still crashes and it seems they all have 9600s. But anyway, so far so good for me.

I've been using the omega drivers with my 9800 pro card and I've never had any problems at all. I may still download these drivers and give it a try. I was hoping for more crashes so I could justify buying a 7800. I guess it will have to wait.

Seems like pretty solid drivers, still getting random error #132 in WoW though.

(01/18/06)The new Omega Drivers based on the Catalyst 6.1 are ready! Well, in case you didn't noticed by now, I decided to skip the Catalyst 5.13 drivers and went directly to the 6.1, Why? well, there where no major changes from 5.13 to 6.1, so I waited for the official version to be released and use that instead (I had the beta for a while). Please go to the ATI Radeon section and take a look at the Readme while downloading so you know the latest changes, additions to this set and some important notes or warnings. Enjoy! You know you want them.

I reverted to 1.5 on a friend's suggestion which completely eliminated my vpu recovers in BWL. Guess I will stay with them because of this.

Release note link doesn't work. ATi thinks you're a leech.
Would install & try them out but meh, too busy moving / setting up my 100mbit line ( I have finally reached nerd nirvana ).

The 6.2 drivers seem to work in EQII fine. No VPI issues or crashes during the limited time I played, including in full-screen mode, which is a first for this 9600 Mobility equipped laptop.

Truly the easiest fix IMO.
