Rule of Cuteness #6: Mimic Humans
This image covers many cuteness factors; multiple animals, looking helpless (it would be fun to turn the water on) and mimicking humans. Humans love it! I mean, half of America's Funniest Home videos is based on animals mimicking humans (the only two things better is suddenly scared people falling down or a surprise hit to the groin).

This seems like a good place to post this.  I found it on Google Image Search, and I have no idea what it was I was actually searching for, but this caught my eye and I thought it was funny.

Too expensive, and then there's the whole 'animal rights' issue when you take them in to have their vocal cords paralyzed because you can't stand their squaking anymore.

(Seriously.. I can't even stand conversations I hear out of 20-22 year olds, I can't imagine what 18 year old 'conversation' sounds like these days. I'd be stabby in hours.)

I also have enough frequent flyer miles for a free, one-way ticket to Arizona.

How long is the waiting peroid to buy a gun out there?

Too long. I have a nice gun shop right down the street from me, Lone Wolf Guns. I suggest looking them up in the phone book and get the paperwork started ahead of time.

For some reason I love stories where animals of different species live together as a family. Maybe it's because those animals display a tolerance that humans simply don't have. (Although it's mostly instinct, but whatever) Even some animals that are natural enemies can form parent-child bonds in the right scenario.

Elephants.  I swear they feel sympathy and compassion.  I once saw a documentary which had an incident where an elephant accidentally fatally injured another animal.  It was some sort of ox or something.  It protected the animal from the rest of the animals who were running (there were hundreds) and when it was safe again, it kept trying to convince the severely injured animal to get up.  It kept pushing at it with it's trunk and, very gently, trying to help pull it up.  It probably injured it more, but it was trying to help.  The elephant knew it was responsible.  After it had bumped it, it turned around and went back to it.  The whole thing made me cry, but it also made me start thinking about how sometimes animals seem almost human in their actions towards others and how humans sometimes act like "animals" in their cruelty.  I mean how many humans would have risked themselves to try and help some dumb cow?  And how cruel are we to animals?   You'd think the evil poachers were the worst of the lot... take a look what's going on with PETA at this very moment.

Hard of Heart and Evil to the Core.  That's me.

However, Elephants are great.  Just as you describe, elephants are the wonders of the animal kingdom.  There was a whole documentary on BBC about the elephants in the wild with that piece of totty Michaela Strachan, called Elephant Diaries or something like that.

It made you laugh and cry and go 'awwwww'.

Bear in mind your talking to someone who'd light cats on fire for giggles.

Maybe it's because those animals display a tolerance that humans simply don't have.

You need to start hanging out with a different crowd of people, or stop watching reality tv, sometihng.  Seriously, you are going to end up an eco-terrorist  chained to a pine tree.

Humans often, on an individual level, display compassion for those things weaker and more fragile than us that puts befrending a baby hippo to shame.  As a species though, yeah, we're (understandably, IMHO) pretty mercenary.
