Hmm, I would have thought Planescape had a Much higher mental barrier of entry than either Baldur's Gate or Baldur's Gate 2.

BG2 and PS are about even in my book. PS had original style in spades, but BG2 felt more "complete" to me.

Holy monkey fuck, I just realized I never finished Planescape...Got to that part where you first meet that old woman then D2 came out..

I saved the game right before that cutscene (yes, I've memorized the game). I'll take a picture later.
I am not impressed by that feat.
Neither am I.
Hehe, half the fun of replaying FFIV was knowing where all the important cutscenes were so you could get free rests in the middle of dungeons (work your party to death / drain all your mana getting a few levels on mobs, then hit the cutscene for a free sleep) or getting free gear / cash by unequipping characters you were going to lose so you could sell their gear later.

Or duplicating weapons.

EDIT: 4 characters Imped + dual-wield + 8 Imp Halberd + what-was-the-double-attack-thing = azzrape

yeah, another great thing was knowing what level to hit before the cutscenes where new / old people joined your party as the game progressed.  There were some Extremely nice weapons that could only be aquired by being a certain level when someone joined your party, because their equipment when they joined was based on their level which was based on your level.

You know what really broke me? I forced myself through half of this version at the game, but one thing never left my mind. Right as Kain and Cecil were leaving Baron at the beginning (before the best music ever plays and before the most cold-hearted thing ever in a video game happens), they added the text "I bet I'll kill more monsters than you!"

Christ. KILL WHOEVER ADDED THAT. THESE ARE NOT CHILDREN. THEY ARE SOLDIERS. THIS IS NOT YOUR BEAUTIFUL IVALICE.

That was crappy, sure, but since the rest of the dialog was improved like a thousand percent, I let it slide.

I need to be able to skip from the burning village to Mt. Ordeals... I just don't have time for the whole game.

If I recall correctly, the original SNES version and the supposedly more faithful fan-retranslation of the Japanese FF4 have Cecil and Cain saying something similar before you leave Baron.

i was going to say, that line never bothered me.  I mean, they are friends, and warriors, off on a mission with potential to encounter enemies.  Friendly banter about who is likely to kill more critters would probably be normal.

I mean, sure, its probably a bad analogy, but soldiers trooping out on recon would likely banter back and forth about who may kill more "insert ethnic nametag slur" here if they expect possible hostile encounters.  Happens all the time in good ole war movies, why would a video game be any different?

***Possible Spoilers***

I'm just a bit after my underworld airship gets retrofitted for over-lava flight.

I just want to know, about how far through the game am I? It would be sweet if I came home tonight, after Beating this thing in 3 days heh.

I don't know, actually, been too long.  Maybe you should ask Gamefaqs.com, he knows everything.  Unless it's something useful about Chapter 7 in Geist.

That won't happen. You're roughly halfway through the game.

That's fine. I spent most of my shift today finishing Trauma Center.

Great Game....but I am glad that I only rented it. Also, the final 8 or so operations were Very Annoying.

Is Trauma Center like an RPG sort of where you build up your career working at better hospitals?

It's more like a fast-paced action/puzzle game.

And since someone necroed this thread....

A bit after my previous post I finally got around to beating this thing.

Wow...last boss....pretty gay....when I finally did beat the guy, the battle took about half an hour. I am not kidding.

I think it'd be cooler if it had some RPGish elements.  I don't know if I'll buy it now.

I personally would not, as the game is fairly short, and I didn't see any point in playing it again after I beat it.

It's still a good game though.

There is no point to having a thread title if cockgobblers post whatever the fuck they want wherever they want.  I'm going to have to send my brain to the trauma center if I read one more necro-derail.
