That was awful. I really hope people with money aren't using information like that to choose which gaming companies to invest in, but if they are, it would explain a lot.

Like the Phantom.

Interesting to finally put a face to the name of the guy I've been giving money to for the past 20+ years. Kinda funny to hear him use the same mannerisms as his brother, like liberal use of the word "basically."

But yeah, it really serves to show how in-the-dark the business world is about the entertainment industry. NCSoft are certainly pioneers, but I don't think for example Guild Wars was the first online game without a subscription fee. And we're still hearing about how gamers play "against" others, which can exclude drawing a lot of females and older gamers into the market, who would love to hear how they can play "with" others.

"Role playing in an MMO is more like an open orchestra with no conductor, anyone of any skill level can walk in at any time, and everyone brings their own instrument and plays whatever song they want.  Then toss PvP into the mix and things REALLY get ugly!" -Count Nerfedalot

I believe that is a geek thing, something imbedded in the very genetic structure of all geeks everywhere.
