I saw this link on another site. I think it's a funny commentary on sports mascots, but you might think it's racist.

Clever, but I don't see the Indian mascot as racist.  Nor are about half his pictures in the charactures, IMO.  Do people in the northeast get upset by the Yankees?  Irish get worked up over Notre Dame?  You can't really cry racism of a race when something is intended to support that group, not degrade it.

None of your examples are about race. This artwork finds its tongue-in-cheek humour in the use of a racial stereotype as a mascot.

I would watch MLB if I could spend an evening on my couch with a beer watching the Cleveland Jews play the Boston Germans for 9 innings.

No more out of context than the artist's use (ganster?).  And while yanks may not qualify, they are a group which can be stereotyped against.  As for Irish, yes, they are a race due to sharing common geneology, history, language, etc.

Didn't find it that funny. Clearly it's racist. That didn't bother me.

Quick, Den this.

I have no desire to read a semantics slapfight between voodoo and Roac about the proper definitions of race and ethnicity.

I could make a pretty good argument for us being a race. But I'd REALLY like to hear yours on how we're not.
