I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of hot young actresses, and I can honestly say that Misha Barton does nothing for me. I don't mind the waifness - I kind of like bony girls - but her head... She looks like her face was modeled after a damn Jack-o-Lantern.

I don't know who she is either, Stray, but she looks like a normal teen-age girl to me, too.  I have no idea what the big deal is with grown men having the hots for teen girls even to the extent that they would watch teen shows.  We've had quite a few weird conversations like this about teen shows and it's alway about how hot the teeny boppers are!

It's not so much the biology of having the hots for them, Ironwood, it's going so far as to watch teeny bopper shows to look at them.  That's extreme, in my opinion.  Having said that, I have not had the hots for a teenage boy since I was a teenager.  I have never had the hots for a teenage girl, just in case someone was going to be a smartass.  Ever since growing up, all those years ago, I prefer my men to be grown up, too.

Not to sound like an ass, but most of the celebrity chicks I have the hots for were in films during the 40's - 60's. Especially the 40's. If Hollywood ever tried to remake Gilda, they could never find another Rita Hayworth. It's not just about looks either (where they're not necessarily better), but the way the women acted then (I'm mainly talking about the 40's here).

That being said....Monica Belluci, Winona Ryder, Audrey Tautou. I'll agree with you about Keira.

She's not ugly, but I don't find her all that attractive either. It's not about impossibly high standards so much as it is just personal taste. Perhaps, like some games, she looks better in motion than in still shots.

If Mischa were my co-worker in the next cube, she would be pretty hot. As a celebrity, however, I hold her to much higher standards than any normal person. And she doesn't meet those, IMHO. Too skinny (by a long shot), and the rest of her just doesn't do much for me personally. I heartily endorse nudity on network TV, so she definitely gets points for that.

She's pretty, but not very hot to me.  She has the problem a lot of recent entertainment-types have: the same body I had when I was a 12-year-old boy.  I like women with womanly bodies (i.e. hips and breasts) rather than women with fashion-model bodies (i.e. as thin as possible, because haute couture is designed to look best on a clothes hanger, not a person, so you find people who look as much like clothes hangers as possible).

Having said that, I have not had the hots for a teenage boy since I was a teenager.

That's because what's hot for a teenage girl and what's hot for an adult woman are two completely different things.  Teenage girls go in for the pretty, but not sexually threatening guy.  How else do you explain Jordan Catallano, Tiger Beat, and New Kids on the Block?  Adult women tend to leave that stage and drool for the guys who are masculine, and while not exactly sexually threatening; sexually intimidating.

Men don't change.  When we're 14 we drool over young girls and hot older women alike.  When we're 35 we drool after young girls and hot older women alike.  If my father is a reliable judge of how men age then this is still the case into the 60's.
