I first heard the song on Sirius and the more I heard it the more it grew on me. So I looked up the artist, Matisyahu, and was a bit surprised... Here's the song (from his label's website so it's legit) http://ormusic.com/King%20Without%20a%20Crown.mp3You can search on www.allmusic.com for Matisyahu to get his background and a few other samples.

Nope more like welcome to being a 95% owned clear channel market and finally getting to hear the other 99% of music on satellite radio.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so mean. They talked about this guy on VH-1 awhile back (though I've never listened to him myself).

King Django is teh shit. I don't think he's full-on hasidic, though. I really dig Agent Jay on Precipice off Reason. Great song, simple yet powerful.

I like 'The Israelites' (is that even what that song is called?) by Desmond Dekker, but he's ska and that doesn't really have anything to do with the price of tea in China.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound so mean. No, you're right. Him, and others like him have been around for awhile. Besides, Rastas already lean on the Mosaic and Ethiopian/Jewish brotherhood side of things anyways (No, I'm not saying they're Hasidic...But they are and have been a lot more compatible with it than not). I'd giggle if it there was something like Norse Dub though.
