STOCKHOLM -- Swedish computer games company Digital Illusions AB (DICE-A.SK) Thursday said it has signed two contracts with U.S.-based Electronic Art Inc.'s (ERTS) studio in the U.K. for the development of new titles.

The company said one contract is for development of an unnamed game for Playstation Portable. In addition, work on developing the game to Xbox and Playstation 2 standards will be switched from Sweden to Electronic Art's U.K. studio at Chertsey, Surrey.

The company also said it signed a second contract for developing another game to personal computer standard.

The value of the two deals wasn't disclosed.

The Playstation game is expected to be launched in 2006 or 2007 and the PC game will reach the market in autumn 2006, the company said.

I surely hope not.

The same PM (or the one just before) also said that DICE had stopped development on Battlefield: Modern Combat for the PSP.

PLEASE let me play against console players with my PC version. They will be thumbing around looking for me while I shoot them in the face. Repeatedly.

I think I will buy the next/first? fps where they let console players play against xbox'ers for just that reason.  If there are games where you can play cross platform already someone let me know.

A nation consists of its laws. A nation does not consist of its situation at a given time. If an individual's morals are situational, then that individual is without morals. If a nation's laws are situational, that nation has no laws, and soon isn't a nation.

But...but....the gamepad is so much better!

 evil

My dad is way into the xbox now, he made it 90% of the way through Halo on Legendary before getting stuck somewhere...and I will utterly crush him if he tries to play against me on a pc title...and I'm not that good at fps. I always trot out the old "Ever hear the saying "I'm all thumbs?" quote. Goddamned consoletards ;)

What I want is a four button mouse, not with little tiny mini buttons, but two more buttons the size of the buttons currently on most 2 button mice + scroll wheel button and thumb button. Then my classical fingerpicking style will crush and destroy. Eat Bach, bitches!
