Ok, this is pretty much just an OMG thread about the latest Gulf hurricane, Wilma, which name has me flashing back to watching The Flintstones as a kid.
Anyway, at this time this thing has gone to Category 5 from Cat 3 in about 8 hours, current windspeed is 175mph, and the pressure is 892mb, tied for lowest ever recorded, and a 70md drop in 8 hours. Currently still west of the Cayman Islands, and well south of Cuba.
No telling what this is really going to do, or when, but at the moment, this is as intense as they get. Hopefully when it hits the jet stream the winds will do some shearing, and tame this beast a bit.

I'm waiting for Hurricane Alpha and Omega to somehow hit land at the same time. I'm so glad I moved to Arizona.

What're the signs of the Apocalypse again? Fire..(which some interpret as war) Flood... I think the last two are Pestilence and Plague. Anyone else noticing an unusually large amount of bugs this fall? My house is covered with those 'skeeter eaters' and an unusually large number of crickets/ grasshoppers.. I'm just waiting for Wilma to turn and head straight through Charlie's path like some are predicting. As if getting hit last year didn't suck enough. I'm so glad I have no desire to live on any coast.

Oddly enough, my dad said that there was an incredible outbreak of love bugs last month. I'm talking about side-of-the-house-is-black incredible. Glad I moved north.

We got them bad here right after Katrina. All the bugs that survived on the Coast moved up here. We have floods, and we have plague with the avian flu. Isn't Demi Moore due to come running through here preggers and naked some time soon?

I'm in St. Petersburg (just south of Tampa) about a mile from the intercoastal waterway in an evacuation zone. My brother has a condo on a golf course about 20 miles north of Tampa and well inland. I think I'm going to go spend the weekend with him regardless of what the forcast is on Friday.

We always get an infestation of moths here in my neighborhood during the summer, because we're right by a wash and they thrive on the heat. This year, however, has been unreal. Truly awful. So I believe this is conclusive evidence that the end times are upon us.

Here are a couple of helpful links for the End Times: Rapture ReadyApocalypse SoonI think we can see that just as Katrina was God's way of punishing people in New Orleans and Mississippi for living in a state of sin, Wilma will be yet another punishment of people for the sin of living in the state of Florida.

But what about the sinners in Wisconsin?

No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.

Looks like Wilma isn't going to get here until monday at the earliest now. It feels like I'm being stood up for a hot date.

Also looks like she'll be doing so much partying in Cancun and Cozumel she won't have much strength left by the time she makes it to Florida. Hopefully.

I always see him as Cartman with the X eyes when he does that shit.
Unfortunately, looks like it works - he did it while praying for another SCOTUS opening...but if god is working through that douchebag, the rapture is overdue anyway. Take 'em all home so I can play GTA in peace.

A couple of links for people still following the storm. Not sure if the graphics will change as the sites are updated. This one you can see how large the eye of the storm was when it hit. Over 60 miles wide as it hit West Palm Beach. Infra red loop. Here in Tampa we got off pretty easy. Had some gusts at around 40MPH or so but mostly it was just rainy and windy. What's bizarre is how cool it is outside now. That cold front that was pushing the storm east swept through right as the rains died down, it's only in the 60s now. Just feels odd to have winter-like weather (for us, at least) literally an hour after a tropical system. South Florida got hit surprisingly hard though. Hurricane force winds extended over 100 miles from the eye, which as I noted above was very large itself. All my family made out ok though, just some minor property damage.

Nothing where I'm at. It was over by the time I woke up monday morning.
The chill in the air is very nice though, too bad it's not going to last through the weekend.
