Since apparently no one gives a shit (assuming because people are afraid to click my links), here's the jist:

Quote
Nintendo has joined forces with McDonald's to offer free wireless internet access in the US for its DS handheld games console.

NOW do you get it? Nintendo is teh winnzor. Sony can kiss they ass. They'll rule the world and Mario and Zelda will continue to be household fixtures, no matter how much shineh Sony brings out. FACE, Sony! FACE.

Actually, I don't really know what this spells, since I don't have a DS and have no idea how they're doing outside of the apparent fascination with Nintendogs. But this might make Animal Crossing veeerrrry interesting.

McDonalds. Great. Because I eat there so much. Now all the Fatty Fatty McPorkskins Wah Wah My Lunchbreak Is Too Fucking Short McFattersteins can play Animal Crossing while gorging on Animal Waste. At least they're even further out of my way.

Hey, all I care is that Nintendo wins. McDonald's is garbage, yes, but they're kinda popular with the kiddie set. The very same people who think good parenting is getting their larvae a happy meal are the people who buy this shit for their kids because the kids see it at McDonald's and WANT IT. Nintendo will never go down, bitches.

You have more faith in Nintendo than they do in themselves. At least you have dreams, right?

So, McD will be the first, but what's stopping Nintendo from hitting other (I remind you, very successful) franchises? Maybe next will be Starbucks or something. Plus, if kids are playing with their DS while they're eating greasy food, they'll just fuck 'em up and mommy and daddy will hafta buy them a new one! More sales!

You know why Nintendo will never go down? Because of their dearth of rated-M games. People who give a shit about their kids and actually attempt to restrict their children's access to violent/sexual content will always go for the Nintendo brand of Cute 'n Fuzzy. It's what Nintendo's famous for. In fact, Res Evil (I-IV) and Eternal Darkness are the only M-rated games for the GC I can think of, compared to a shitton for PS2. I realize that adult gamers who want to play scary and fucked-up games comprise a margin of total buyers, but I still think Nintendo is gonna be fine, just fine.

Yeah, and despite what a bunch of douchebags on this forum think about something they've never seen in real life, most people are excited about it. By "most people" I mean the population of TGS.   I realize that some crusty xenophobes are afraid of something that is not a clone of everything they've held since they were ten, but I don't think that's a tenable threat to Nintendo's success.

Nintendo requires a dongle to work on wifi. I can go into any McDonalds right now and use my PSP. You know what's stopping Nintendo. Say it with me:

How many worthwhile games are coming our for the PSP at all, or have already? At this point the system is a dog. It's right up there with the Game Gear.

Nintendo will never go down, bitches.

Nintendo went from Lord of all Humanity during the NES era, to about 50/50 against Sega during the SNES era, to second place during the N64 era, to a distant third in the Gamecube era. On the other side of the lake, Nintendo owned the entire market with both the Famicom and Super Famicom, and then pretty much lost it all as developers jumped ship for PlayStation (and to a lesser extent, Saturn). There are only 47 Xboxes in the entire nation of Japan, so Gamecube is sitting in second there, at least.

Quite a success story, that.

Nintendo is still going to sell a lot of DS'. It won't be because of this however.

The PSP really is a Game Gear.  Its mostly playing portable scaled down less fun versions of games you can get on the home system.

If we want to be snarky about it, the DS is shitty ports and avant-garde crap that requires you to yell at your DS like a retard with your cock on the touch-screen due to the "creative" or rather, "innovative" control scheme.

Hey, I never said they'd take the lead, I said they'll never go down.

They really fucked up by going Panasonic instead of Sony CDR technology. This whole PlayStation thing is really about settling a vendetta.

If we are talking snarky comments, then one may as well point out that the PSP is essentially a portable movie player that can also play a number of existing PS2 games with more problematic loading times.  I guess that's good for the people that don't subscribe to the "game as toy" concept; doesn't work out too well for me, however.

The PSP would be fine if developers stopped being lazy.

The DS is going to run out of good software pretty soon here. Topping Phoenix Wright and Trauma Center will be quite the trick.

I agree with the first sentence.  If most of them quit fucking around with standard console fare and played towards a portables strengths(like Lumines), the PSP would be a great system.  As it stands, I am still waiting for GTA:LCS to come out so the damn thing gets game-time again, and I can't wait around forever for the next one.  Popolocrois and it's ilk are a total step in the right direction, though.  I really hope they could bring Jumping Flash and Poy Poy and other relatively obscure franchises back on the system, and the PSP absolutely needs a port of FFT or another entry in Vandal Hearts.

As the the second comment; saying something like that would be like saying the PS2 was going to run out of good software after GTA3 and ICO came out, but nonetheless I'm glad you are finally having fun with your DS.  Wish you would drop your 3rd-party crusade for them, though...

A SquareEnix RPG or a Nippon Ichi title would probably be all I need to give up emulation.

I didn't know you liked tactics stuff that much. And yea, wtf. Where's the Squeenix. You'd think they'd be all over porting their PS1 and PS2 stuff all in one ridiculous box set or something. Fuckers. Maybe Nintendo still has them in their pocket for portable stuff. Squeenix hasn't even announced support for their system.
