My inital reaction was wtfgayness... But that's pretty sweet actually... I'd love to see that in action from a helicopter or something... to give me the perspective i'd have in the actual game. :)

That's just damn exciting.  As of now, the only physically interactive game I can think of, which also includes an interactive social component, is DDR.  I am obviously overlooking the sort of interaction that comes from Fighters, Shooters, and pretty much the overall ambience of every arcade hang-out in existence, but I still stick to the notion that DDR is the only true (popular) physical video game out there.

If developers could somehow create a synergy between physcial sports such as soccer, basketball, football - what have you, and combine the action portion with the over-the-top fantasy/sci-fi atmosphere of video games, well I'd join the first damn league I could get into.

And I'm not talking virtual reality or laser tag here, but some kind of in-between.  A sport within a game if you will.

...And yes I realize I said "synergy".  So sue me.

This is why I can't respect "mainstream" journalism on the web.

Quote
"Life imitates art far more than art imitates life," Oscar Wilde once wrote. Little did he know that life would eventually also imitate video games.

Or you could just can the snarky Oscar Wilde quote and realize that video games are also the same kind of "art" that Oscar Wilde was talking about you no-talent, mouth-breathing, puff-piece-writing, wanna-be-hip-and-trendy corporate retard shill fuckface.

It's Monday morning, and my boss is out of the office all week. Meaning I get to do any of the work he would normally have done.

Other then the costumes looking like total crap, I imagine it would be pretty darn fun. Especially if it was tackle.

I think the crappy-ness of the costumes adds to the fun/coolness. :)
