Norfolk schools just won an accolade in the Urban School division for the country! Mind you they are based on SOL's, which I oppose, but oh well. At first I was not happy about my daughters going to school in that shithole city, but this makes me all warm and fuzzy. I dunno just wanted to share.

The Norfolk public school division today won the top national education prize for urban school districts, after being named finalist for the third consecutive year. The Broad Prize for Urban Education recognizes years of high and improving student achievement, and success in bringing the academic performances of minority and low-income children closer to their peers. It is awarded annually by the Broad Foundation, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization. The winner receives $500,000 in scholarships for graduating seniors.
No Nerf, but I put a link to this very thread and I said that you all can guarantee for my purity. I even mentioned your case, and see if they can take a look at your lawn from a Michigan perspective.
And I thought those tests were easy when I was in school.
I remember one of the tests gave you a bar graph, showing your performance and percentile ranking. A friend and I compared ours, and we thought the graph was just a generic icon or something, because our graphs were both capped-out in the same way.
Then we looked at another kids.
"Hey, my graph is different from you guys'. What that mean?"
"Um...I think it means you're dumb."
