Volatile actor Russell Crowe insists he always forgives himself when he goes off the rails--even if the victim of his wrath is still reeling.

The actor is philosophical about his temperamental behavior, as he always makes things right by apologizing to himself on a regular basis.

He says, "I don't think anyone can possibly go through their life without getting things wrong now and again.

"I have a simple ability to know when I've done something wrong and if I can't apologize to that person directly, I can apologize to myself.

"If you think you can get away with bulls**t, you're wrong. You can't live a thoroughly selfish, negative life and expect to be a successful person."
