A truck driver died Monday after being struck by his own semi-trailer while backing out of a Downtown warehouse.

Steven Caldwell, 60, of Jackson, Mo., was killed when he was leaving the lot of Interstate Warehousing Inc., 1301 S. Keystone Ave., at about 8 p.m.

Indianapolis Police Sgt. Judy Phillips said Caldwell stepped out of the cab of his moving vehicle for some unknown reason and was struck by the trailer.

Commercial vehicle enforcement officers with the Indiana State Police assisted in the investigation.
