Most of these stories make me think the world is a bad place.  Never in a suicidal way, of course, more in a homocidal way.

Strangely, yes.  It's good to know that there are people who stick to convictions and morals no matter how bad their life gets.

Would anyone really really really blame this woman who's homeless with 2 kids for taking that money ?  I know I wouldn't.  The very fact that she didn't has given me a little lift.

To be honest, I've been a ticking time bomb of rage since I realised that my country is becoming more and more stupid in the face of adversity.  It's nice to know that while people are still the same, a person can be decent.

The article says 5 kids, not two.  Now I don't know her life story so I don't want to judge too much, but as good as it was for her to return the money, I don't think it makes up for having that many kids you know you can't support.

You never know what happened to her. I worked in a homeless shelter for awhile, and there were families there who just had some bad luck with their jobs, and used the shelter to get back on their feet; a family who's house had been burned down; etc., etc.. All kinds of stories.

Theft is bullshit, regardless.  She did the right thing, and her kids will remember it, for good or for bad.
