Then you can pick up Zelda, AND the new WoW TCG at the same time!

Zelda delayed? Last big release before they ramp up marketing for the Revolution?
/obvious
Edit: For those of you wondering what I'm saying - Nintendo realized that if they released a zelda this year, the public would probably expect one with the revolution. They simply aren't ready for that. They want the revolution to hinge on netplay Smash Bros and nostalgia.

/obvious I'd think it would go the other way. Go ahead and release Zelda and get it out of the way. Twilight Princess is scheduled for Q2 of 2006, and Revolution is scheduled to fall just behind the PS3 which itself is Q2 2006. Even if that means Revolution is to come out in Q3, you're only talking a couple months difference between what will be one of the largest games ever on GC, and the launch of their new platform. The Zelda line has always been a fairly solid game, and there is every reason to believe this one will be one of the best ever. We're looking at an RE4-ish release on the GC, and right before they want people to sink hundreds into a new console. I'm not a marketing guy at all so I might be missing something here... but this doesn't seem to make any sense whatsoever. Why release a game so big that it may drive people to buy a console just to play it, when they're looking to switch consoles? It would be nice to get people to buy both, but there's only so much money to go around, and I doubt that will be the case.

Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us." -SC

On the other hand if the Revolution is released at the same time as Zelda then people who don't have a GC will have the option of buying a Revolution instead since it's backwards compatible.

I hate, despise, loathe, and in all ways hold ill feelings toward all things Zelda. I think I was irretrievably scarred when I worked at Nintendo.

I can't really complain if they are actually going to work on it, not print it and sit on it for months. I'll wager a small sum that there is content unlockable on the Rev, though. Assuming the Rev isn't delayed.
