Would be jointly developed by Tomonobu Itagaki, Rockstar, Sid Meier, and Raph Koster. It'd take place in the Wild West. Itagaki would work on the babes jiggly and the combat, Rockstar on the writing/humor/environment, Meier on the virtual train set, and Koster making Itagaki's babe's jiggly (and associated businesses) come to life.

Raph Koster

I thought you said you wanted the perfect game?  Koster doesn't make games, he makes his own little dynamic world navel gazing projects that fail spectacularly and have to be manhandled by other developers into something resembling a legitimate form of entertainment.

See:  Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies.

Fun game actually. Not really like GTA though (the combat is, but the story is linear).

As long as there isn't a Dancer class, I wouldn't mind a Koster designed virtual brothel or saloon.

[edit] Wait a sec, I've got Rockstar here. They'll do the brothel. Koster can just serve up drinks (except the hot coffee, of course).  evil

My perfect game would be an MMOG where you would start off as a squad leader in a NPC unit. You'd battle in the war arenas for promotions. All of this would be twitch. When promoted, you'd move on to playing an RTS type match as a commander of many units of these human lead squads. As the commander you could also overrule any squad leader based on your influence rating versus his. Then, ultimately the best squad leaders would see a Civilization type turn based strat game, where you would control the mass movements of armies and their commanders. Guild would actually be fictional countries battling for the map. NPC armies and rebels would keep the game in check if one country really started dominating. And there would be safe zone countries where new armies could train before they set foot on the conquerable map.

I'd take a Shadowrun game with Bioware doing the RPG elements.  Throw in a GTA-type environment, with the gameplay shifting to squad-based style combat whenever you're doing a run in a corp building.

My perfect game came out a little while ago under the name of Jade Empire.

This is a humorous signature.

That'd be nice too. I mainly just like Baja/Offroad though -- Something with about as much decent representation in the world of gaming as the wild west. So, fat chance for me.

I want!

Shadowrun, Cyberpunk, Wild West- 3 settings that are hideously underrepresented. A multiplayer White Wolf RPG would be fun too.

My perfect game would be designed by Origin, Looking Glass Studios and Black Isle. Either or the three would do, combined would make me a very happy camper indeed.

I would like to take this opportunity to say fuck you EA, Eidos and Interplay.

I seem to recall some sort of crazy Russian gaming site Engrish quote floating around that includes the phrase "Shadowbane 2" but I can't lay my hands on it right now.  As to funding, I'm sure they can find some former pets.com venture capitalist with a fetish for being kicked in the balls.

I'd like an online Hex and Counter style turn based war game (I.E. Operational Art of War, Korson Pocket…but with maps not so big) set during a hypothetical 1960's Outbreak of WWIII in Europe, Oh battles will be resolved on a hex shaped battlefield (to facilitate which direction the attacker should enter the map) in FPS style Gameplay modeled after Operation Flashpoint, but with better air and armor unit modeling.

The orders phase would move the counters about via voting by each side's players, as they are locked into one side for each campaign.

The execution phase has two counters go to battle and they determine what equipment each side has in the battle and what the terrain is like on the battle map. I.E. out of supply Soviet Motorized Infantry Company vs. US Rifle Company in heavy woods would feature nothing but infantry units for the US side, but the Soviet IVFs and troops would be low and gas and ammo. Battle is resolved when one side either retreats or is annihilated. The battle results are then re-integrated back into the hex game world.

Once all battles are resolved for that turn the process begins again till one side accomplishes some set goal like "Kill X number of enemy units or capture Y% of the strategic map."

Campaigns could be varied by location and season to keep the battle ground fresh. And you'd have to have true NATO vs Warsaw Pact by modeling other nations like Poland, West Germany, France, England, Hungary, ect.

Developer: Microprose, BattleFront, BIS, and SSI
Publisher: Anybody but EA and CDV

P.S. All twitch, no skills or RPG leveling what-so-ever.  angry

"Relax, Bob. That's a conscript in that T-64. It'll take him 5 or 6 125mm shell hits to blow our level 26 jeep up."

(I know there was an online RTS that added a small strategic map to fight over. Problem was the RTS part was loaded with classic treadmill traits and you controlled very few units.)

Or just give me Operation Flashpoint 2 right now. That works too.

You made me forget this was a wishful thinking thread.

Okay so that last post of mine should have gone in the game development thread, but I'd still play it in a heartbeat. However, let me simplify and scale down my other visions.

Dream Game(s) #1 Microprose could come back to life and make M1 Tank Platoon 3 and another worthy X-Com sequal with battlefront as the publisher.

Dream Games #2 Alone in the Dark 1 remade with the Doom3 engine produced under the direction of Clive Barker and stays true to the 1930s lovecraft settings.

Dream Game #3 Someone having the Balls to do a WWII FPS shooter single player campaign from the Axis perspective that covers the entire war from the invasion of Poland to the last days in Berlin. Failing that, a WWI shooter from the German perspective of 1917-1918 complete with Tanks, poison gas, and the first submachinegun. Just keep EA the hell away from it.

Dream Game #4 Someone finally creates a worthy successor to the Close Combat series so it can join the ranks of the Total War series in the genre of RTSs that don't suck.

I want a skill based Sci-Fi MMOG with a 4x style meta-game, the game not only has lasers and power armor but also giant mechs, whole armies and space fleets that you can own, outfit and command and a strategic map for control of the galaxy that I can dominate..  It also has to have PC group/party based exploration and 'missions' such as raiding an opponents homeworld deep in his territory to steal the plans for his new heavy assault armor, these missions can be stealth based or just straight up snap raids.  The game must have elements of defensive planning that are detailed and effective enough (if well planned) to hold off determined assault while still allowing the creative player the chance to win a war of fire and  maneuver, where logistics are important and yet creativity on the battlefield can also be effective.  The game should have detailed management features for the growth of your conquered worlds economies and production.  Also, it should come with a pony, this last part is not optional.

"You have all recieved youre last warning. I am in the process of currently tracking all of youre ips and pinging your home adressess. you should not have commencemed a war with me" - Aaron Rayburn
