In looking over the list, I can see a possible lack of warriors.

I would be willing to play one. The warrior I played previously soloed mostly, and never got to truely tank much.

If I roll warrior, it will be a Tauren named Hoofenstein....or Tizor, if the former is taken.

Better you than me.  I haven't had any desire to play a tank since I played DAOC.

Tanks can be fun if they have someone else to at least duo with.

I really don't want people picking classes based on what it looks like we need.

Play something that you want to play.  The rest will follow suite.

Besides, shamans can tank just fine :p

I actually like tanking in WoW just fine, but quit my other warrior because soloing is lame.

I haven't played a Warrior in WoW so maybe they're fun.  Playing an Armsman in DAOC though just soured me on the idea of playing a class that has the primary function of being beaten on.

Edit:  The upside to making characters based on what the guild needs though is a better chance of being needed for a group, and a better chance of getting the good drops for your class, as opposed to if you're one of a half dozen mages for example.

Yup, druids and priests.

Actually surprised there's no priests considering they're pimp in PVP.

Honestly, I don't care if we have 20 shaman in the guild, I still plan on having a good time.

It's all I can really promise.  Really.

I agree with what Hat is saying.  Everyone should just play what they want, with the goal to be...fun.

That being said.  Some classes really blow to solo regardless of level.  I actually quite enjoyed being a Priest, in the instance/raid/questing times.  Having to grind or try and hard level solo after 55 (on a PvP server) is anti-fun, since there are Honor farmers everywhere that are at the level cap with great gear.  It becomes almost impossible to do anything alone after 50ish.

So sure I would play another Priest (or a more durable Druid) but only if it seemed like there were some of us on everytime *I* logged in, which may not fit into the style of playtime we plan on going with.

Just mentioning, and keeping the thread alive.

Druids are supposedly getting worked on in 1.8 aren't they?  I haven't played either class past 20 nor have I done much PVP so I'm not sure how good they are later on.  I did find the Druid to be pretty fun to play though.  As far as soloability  goes, I haven't played on a PVP server, so how viable is soloing in the upper levels without enemy groups running by and killing you on a regular basis (I imagine it depends a lot on server balance)?

And part of the fun for me in playing in a guild as opposed to solo (which I do a lot of on another server), is playing a useful role in that guild.

Honestly, if we all play, I doubt there will ever be a time when someone isn't on to help out.  And since it's a PVP server, I sure as hell hope that we'd help each other out (babysitting) so that you don't get WTFPWNED by someone on a mount.

Also, I'm all for getting more peeps to join up from inside the game.  Recruiting and the such.  Just tell them the website, and to register up, then we'll take 'em in.  Or if you have friends or whatever that want to roll some alts.

By the time I hit 26 or so, I'll probably just run WSG until peeps catch up or something anyways.

Again showing that I have spent too much time with WoW, the very first characteter I rolled was on Archimonde.  I won't go into why I initially thought joining that particular server was a good idea at release (lol), or why I left but HEY yes I have a 44 Tauren Druid there just gathering dust.

My experience with my Druid and fighting them as a Priest:

- Low DPS made for slow levelling.
- Having access to a talent(s) that let you hide/move at will was very useful on a PvP server.
- You heal really well.  And if you spec Restoration you heal argueably as well as an equal level Priest.
- You are durable.  You can take a few hits with Bear, add in the heals and the roots you will at least get away.  I'd rate Druid's overall survivabilty score as great.
- Dunno about 1.8 but the recent Dev examination of Animal Form talents has really been good to Druids.  You can offtank as Bear no sweat. (Usually)
- Did I mention low DPS?

And Stray - I played my Priest from 30ish - 55ish with a co-worker playing semi-regularly as a Warrior.  Again briefly in my experience I thought Warriors were bad ass in PvP, most especially after the revamp they got awhile back.  My buddy was Protection spec for a good while, then went Arms and back again.  He was useful/viable/dangerous as both specs in both PvE and PvP.  Flipside of that was I can easily see that playing/levelling a Warrior solo would suck majoris.  ANY class to help supplement your DPS or hitpoint pool would speed things up.

I am going to name my character: Meifumado

I am still torn wether I want to level a Shaman, Warlock or Mage.  I've gotten a Shaman and a Mage to 30, both were fun, but I'm real curious about the Warlock thing.  They look like they have a metric fuckton of options.

Druids are really badass in PVP these days. Well, a well played one. They take a bit more skill than some classes, but they are very group and solo friendly.  A feral specced druid can solo very well from what I have been told.

Yeah, I like 'em. It's the only class that I've really played for an extended period of time (never maxed a character yet though), and I don't mind rolling another if I have more people to play with.

As for Archimonde, I initially was there too, until I realized that the much touted PvP wasn't going to be anything special. Some of the best SB guilds that I knew were there and all that, but for the most part, it was a lot of people from SWG who "owned Bria" or something.  rolleyes After that, I rolled another warrior on Morph's server, but soon moved to a PvE server with rl friends (and made yet another warrior). Then I quit the game entirely.

So anyways, if I play the rp server, this would be my 4th attempt at that class...But I wouldn't mind trying again. Besides, in terms of late bloom/endgame potential, I'll probably get more benefits out of it than if I went some other route (or so it seems....?).

Shamans are pretty cool though (from what little I've played recently). There's just a few things about their endgame role that I'm left in the dark with. So I'm not sure whether I want to make one now or not.

Eh?  My warrior has soloed-up pretty well and does good DPS.  It hasn't gone up as easily as my hunter, but no class does as well as them solo for speed and damage with minimal downtime.  My priest is the one that's struggled upwards thus far.  Low DPS, even with shadow spec, plus the downtime from mana, and the expense of buying drinks rather than summoning them like mages.  Oh sure, she *survives* and can flee from a lot of fights or mix-ups that would have killed my warrior or hunter, but surviving != killing. Since druids do even less DPS I can't imagine the hell of leveling one up.

I'm attempting a druid while a friend of mine tries a rogue.  These are our "promise to level together" toons.  We both created female NE's just to see if this whole thing about people treating you nicer as a mangina thing works.

Amazingly, it does.  No doubt in my mind.

Mangina twins activate!

Oh, druid, yeah, it is tough.

When is the ETA on this server again?

Yes, I giggle just thinking about Blizzard and the word ETA. I might as well have asked how many rain drops hit my house during the hurricane.

I should be good to go for this since I figure it's probably 2-3 weeks out anyway. My Net connection has held pretty steady, much better than the phone connection.
