With the date for BlizzCon rapidly approaching, we’re excited to reveal more information about what attendees have in store. Here are some of the noteworthy and exclusive BlizzCon goodies that each attendee will receive.


World of Warcraft In-Game Pet

What’s round and rainbow-colored, with big eyes, fingers, and toes, and goes, "Grrrrmalrrrrgrrahhhh"? Your very own baby murloc pet, that’s what! Each BlizzCon attendee will receive a souvenir gift card with a unique code on it. This code can be used in-game to hatch a slimy cute little murloc pet that only an owner could love. Just what Azeroth needs…more murlocs!


Beta-Test Access Code

In addition to making you the proud owner of a bouncing baby murloc, the souvenir gift card you receive will also contain an access code for an upcoming Blizzard beta test. Once you receive the card, you’ll be able to visit a Blizzard Web site, enter the code, and sign up to be contacted when the upcoming beta test is ready for you to join. While beta tests give us a chance to fine-tune our work, they also provide the unique opportunity of allowing participants to try out and give feedback on a Blizzard title before it becomes available to the general public.   


BlizzCon T-Shirt

Nothing quite says "It happened, and I was there" like a themed T-shirt, and we’ve got you covered in that regard. Each BlizzCon attendee will receive a BlizzCon goody bag, and in that bag there will be certain items. One of those items will be the official BlizzCon T-shirt. Yeah.

BlizzCon Playing Cards

Another souvenir item you’ll find in your special BlizzCon goody bag is a full deck of BlizzCon playing cards, encased in a uniquely decorated box and decked out with Blizzard artwork from the Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft series.


BlizzCon Souvenir Show Guide

The BlizzCon show guide you receive will contain plenty of useful information, such as a layout of the show floor and an event schedule, but it will also feature colorful articles about Blizzard and some of the things you’ll be seeing at the show, as well as a handy section for collecting autographs.


Other Goody-Bag Items…

The BlizzCon goody bag will be brimming with other Blizzard-themed souvenir items, ranging from practical (such as a Blizzard cell-phone lanyard with a screen-cleaning cloth on one side), to decorative (such as a silicone Warcraft, Diablo, or StarCraft bracelet), to...well, we’ve got to leave some surprises for you!

Seeing as how I've read from multiple semi-reliable sources that there is no Diablo 3 or StarCraft 2 in production, I'd say yes.

Yeah, seriously. WTF is up with the ticket price? Is that standard for something like this? Because I was thinking for a two-day event, probably $40 a day.

I think the EQ fanfaires were $200 each, but that included a hotel room.

Nope, found the prices. EQ offered 3 "pass levels"  $120, $150, $175.  Basic gave you general admission, next up gave you a 'beach party' admission at the end of the fair, and $175 added on a brunch with the devs. It did NOT include a hotel room.


I can't speak for how that price compares to other conventions.  The only one I've been to was a professional convention that cost my company $1500 for a week in Vegas at the MGM Grand.  Seems like a deal, I suppose, if you're into that sort of thing.

Not Horde specific, but you can buy Parrots in Booty Bay, first Building on the left side after you leave the boat.

Panda and Diablo were gifts with prepurchase.  You can't get them anymore.  That's why people ask where you get them.  They can't.

Of which the Diablo and Panda were the superior pets.  Diablo spews fire when he's idled long enough and the panda falls asleep.  My priest has the zergling and it does jack and squat besides make me look like a Warlock with a miniaturized felhound.

QuakeCon (www.quakecon.org) is free.  Of course that is more of a tradeshow, with advertisers etc (including, of course, id Software themselves) helping foot the bill, so it's a little different. 

Still, seems like a lot of cash for essentially you granting them the opportunity to market to you.

Starcraft 2 has been "in production" in some form or another, possibly still design, since (at least) last October. It may also just be words on a whiteboard. Consider these more than reliable sources.

Aren't they still working on Ghost?  Looked great from the videos I've seen.  Might as well be a Starcraft 2, until they really make it.

The Offspring to Play at BlizzCon! - Block on 9/26/05

Blizzard is proud to announce that the closing-night concert at BlizzCon will feature multi-platinum recording artists The Offspring!
