Sphere movement like Phantom Brave. That sucks.

I do believe it is being released this fall. I saw a press release on it not too long ago.

Must.. get...

I've never actually seen the circle movement in action, so I guess I'll see how it goes. Also, when you said they do good voice-overs were you including Disgaea? 'Cause I thought the voice in that was pretty bad.

Disgaea and Makai Kingdom's voiceovers are from the same genetics. They are, at heart, parodies and not meant to be taken seriously. Considering what they are trying to do, I think the voiceovers are fantastic. Over the top farces of some of the other ridiculous shit we see on the market. Sure, the voiceovers for Stella Deus and Final Fantasy Tactics are passable - but they sound more like a soap opera (Ok, a couple of characters in Stella Deus were great as with FFT but on a whole, just bleh).

Edit: Somehow, I slurred in there. Literally. As in a typing impediment.

Waa? I loved the voices of the three main characters (Laharl, Etna, and Flonne). I thought they fit their characters perferctly, and Etna's "fantasy interludes" were among the best parts of the entire game. I wish I had an audio track of all those.

Edit: fixed typo

Yep, Calantis is on crack, Disgaea voices were great.

After much soul-searching, sphere movement is a deal breaker.  It turns a fun game into a slog through mud.

Well, I'm the kin of person who is very empathetic with certain things. Even when watching sitcoms and the like I switch channels when a character is about to do something very stupid. And since Disgaea is pretty "stupid" voicing and dialog (you guys even admitted it, it's an effect they were going for), while it might have sounded appropriate to you guys, it was just very cringe-worthy and overdone for me.

I've never been able to get into the Nippon Ichi Strat RPGs.
