I downloaded it after I'd already patched, and it ran, but of course told me the file was for a different version of WoW (since I'd already patched). Not sure what the "Not a valid windows application" thing came from.

Can somebody with access post the patch notes or is it in a different thread?  I can't touch Blizzard sites with a 10,000 foot pole from work.

Patch 1.6.1 Changes

General
  • Spell casting is no longer interrupted when leaving combat.

Warriors
  • Improved Shield Block - Fixed a bug where Rank 3 of the talent was not granting the extra block.
  • Bloodthirst - Damage bonus increased to 40% of attack power.

Items
  • The Oil of Immolation effect is no longer affected by bonuses to spell damage from items.

Raids & Dungeons
  • Blackwing Lair
  • Several encounters in Blackwing Lair now cause the front gate to close, preventing players from zoning out or joining an in-progress battle.
  • The Razorgore encounter has been changed slightly to make it less "random". The spawning should be more consistent throughout the fight.
  • The timer for Vaelastrasz the Corrupt is now more persistent. You can no longer reset the one-hour time limit for beating him by leaving the instance. Also, Vaelastrasz the Corrupt will not respawn for 12 hours if he has not been beaten when the timer expires.
  • The drakes in Blackwing Lair will no longer leave the lab.
[li]Maraudon[/li]
  • Lowered experience values for Creeping Sludge.
[/list]

Macs
  • Increased the maximum number of sounds which can be played simultaneously. This will fix problems where some sounds could be dropped in very busy situations.
  • Fixed WoW Error Reporter so that it doesn't crash under Mac OS X 10.4 when trying to send an error report.
  • Worked around an issue where you would lose your Expose/Dashboard preferences if you crashed or asserted while in fullscreen mode on Mac OS X 10.4.
  • Fixed the "blockWidth", "srec", and "bitnum < m_numBits" assertions bugs that would crash the game.
  • Fixed a bug involving corpses near the player that could result in a crash ("BusError").

And all of you, except SuperPopTart who I assume knows that website, should be chided for running an executable through your browser from a web site.  Let alone one with a weird name like rebelpenguin.info.  For all you know they are a bunch of hardcore linux users (the penguin mascot) who want to destroy your Windows based computers  :-D.  I can hear your system admins  cry.

Edit: Spent way too much time formatting the patch notes to make them more readable.

I'm trying to figure out if that warrior change makes it worth going into fury. Is that 40% damage on TOP of regular damage, or is it just 40% total. Because if it's on top of regular, that might put it on par with MS seeing as most warriors have AP in the 900+ range.

Reads like "40% total" to me.

Thanks, Blizz, for not fixing the loot bug.  Shitfuckers.

It's 40% total, no weapon damage.  I specced dual-wield fury this last go-round and I'm enjoying it more than the MS build.  It's a lot more expensive, though, since you have to buy 2 blue-or-better weapons and load-up on +atk and +agi/ +crit equip, all of which go for a premium on my server.   As an added bonus I notice I'm getting more rage when s-n-b because of the 5 pts in unbridled wrath I'd normally skip.

As for the strange .exe on an unknown site, I just knew what his problem was.  I've done the same thing before. ;)  I'll just use the torrent when I'm home tonight since I never have problems with it.

It is my website, dumbass.

Mine. I own the domain. I have the hosting. My freaking website.

Try oh I don't know... asking who owns the domain or even clicking that funny little GLOBE icon that shows what a person's personal website is under their name.

Or just shut up. That works too.
