Am I missing something?
A wallpaper? For a patch?
*Has spent a total of 8 minutes in Diablo. Sorry if I don't get it.* EDIT: Yes, I clocked it.

Now if the patch tripled XP gains and cut out about half the game I might be interested in reinstalling it...

Thats Andariael, the Queen of Poison and Disease, and boss of Act I. Noobler. Edit for drunken stupid: Durael is the Lord of Pain, meaning Andariael can't be the Queen unless she is willing to screw a giant slug, which even she is probably not willing to. Because, ya know, everyone hates Durael.

Hell yeah. Man, it's been so long since I've lost myself in a game of Diablo.....or Starcraft, for that matter. Maybe I'll re-install both.

Its funny how artists - when they want to make an evil female thing - never alter the torso, upper arms, or upper legs. All the things that a man might want to play with or stick something into - or might have to touch while doing so - are intact. The rest is scaly and evil. Including the face.

It might be fun to get something going, since I have effectively forgotten how to play. You know, v1.10 and all, plus aging brain.
Oh, wait, I don't have any free time.

Reinstall and multiplay yes, Hardcore no. I never play hardcore except locally since I get very loud and angry when I die do to lag.

Ok.
Fine.
No hardcore.

Explain the appeal of hardcore to me then please. I want to be on edge when I play because of a death penalty of some sort, but I want to be able to explore the world and have fun to. The idea of losing EVERYTHING to one mistake, or worse one lag spike, is just nine different kinds of stupid.

I never let myself get that close to death. But more than that, I've explored the game 1,000s of times. The only difficulty left for me is hardcore. It surely makes fighting Diablo himself hella harder. But seriously, it's teh fun.

I guess I don't see Hardcore as a new challenge, but rather as a new penalty. If the game gets too easy I use characters I'm not used to or non-standard templates (all shout barb, Bone-Necro, Trap-assassin.

Bone Necro's are pretty damn powerful. All you need to pump points into is Bone Wall and Iron Maiden. Fill up the room. Win. Repeat.
Also, Trap-assassin is pretty common and the most efficient way to kill bosses without getting hurt yourself. Lightning Lightning Lightning.
Barbarians are just boring. ^_^

If I owned D2 I would consider this.
I'm a whore for co-op play.

A pure warcry barbarian is the ultimate ally, but he cannot kill worth a damn in Hell diffuculty. Level 98 Warcry barb of mine was one of the funnest characters I've played in any game, ever, but it would have been very different if groups were harder to find in D2.
Trapsassins are one of the ultimate asshole classes, along with tstorm/frozen orb sorc and every amazon, ever.

Many a kekela-babagivSOJ's have died from my traps laying just outside town, portal, waypoint, or dungeon. And I just had a blast running up and down bloody hills gunning down people doing xp runs [with tstorm/FO sorc]. Edited: for clarity
