I think FFXII sounds an awful lot like .hack, with Final Fantasy trappings.  I plan to buy it.

I'm with you, it smells like a MOG sans catshit.  My favorite part of .hack is accumulating loot.

Why am I homeless?  Why do all you motherfuckers need homes is the real question.

I beat .hack volumes 1 and 2 but never picked up 3 and 4. Is it worth finishing even if I've already seen all the animes? Or is it just more of the exact same?

I have never finished the first one.  I play for about three hours, collecting loot, then I get sick of it and stash it away for eight months or until I forget about whatever it is I don't like about it.  Probably the bane of my existence: uncontrollable sidekicks.  I feel the need to fire it up now.

I haven't finished it either, but what I've seen (maybe half way through number four) it's just more of the exact same thing.  You need X number of "virus cores" to get into the next plot area, so you have to go back and fight a bunch of random dungeons to get them.  Get to the plot area, mob your way to the boss, find out that he's invulnerable.  Beat on him until he can be data drained, then kill him.  Find out that there wasn't anything relevant in the dungeon after all.  Log out, read in the message board that someone experienced a "wierd noise" in zone Theta: Exposed Sagacious Crotchweasel, do the whole damn thing all over again.  I assume the game eventually ends, so I maybe all the actual plot happens in the last five or ten minutes, but damn, the fights in that game are the most irritating things in the world.  I generally can't take more than a half hour or so before I start wondering if I want to see the ending that badly.

I'm still waiting for Schild to connect the dots on the halo slurs.

No, it's not funny anymore. It was only funny because I posted that after I was at EBGames that day. And I work in the ghetto. Which made it funnier. Really, it was only funny to me. Well, and about 50 other people. But that's not the point. It wasn't actually a slur, it was just a people. That said, as of next Tuesday, replace Halo with Madden. That should make it easier.

Damn you.

I still don't get the Halo slurs.  Will someone please explain it for me?  And, therefore indirectly, to schild.
