Missing your server on WoW? Can't See Your Character.. Solution Here

1. Open WordPad (or appropriate text editor on a Mac).
2. Open <path to WoW>\WTF\Config.wtf
3. Find the line that starts [/pre]SET realmName[/pre]
4. Set the line to [/pre]SET realmName "Moonrunner"[/pre]
5. Log into character



Voila.

Find the BBcode manual that says start tags don't have / in them.

Edit: Oh, and I took the opportunity of this downtime (which of course also affected the European servers) to cancel. Not because of the downtime, but because of the bugs and quest-loot grind.
