http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-bugs&t=45437&p=1&tmp=1#post45437Invulnerable Mail's proc immune effect is cancelled when the wearer melee attacks
Thottbotlink is http://www.thottbot.com/?i=26827. You can read the comments for the armor if you don't know what this armor is all about. Personaly I have the armor since a while back and it's easily the single best item in game for PvP, there's not one single item which can even compare to it. 5% chance to turn invulnerable to physical dmg for 10 seconds along with the highest armor value of any mail chest piece, and +20 defense. Thing is I already think it's a tad to powerful as it is. Now I can only use the proc to heal and bolt ( bolting doesn't work that well, "target must be infront of you" pops up all the time with a jumping rogue on you ). Now when they're going to change it I bet even hunters will save up for this thing, they would be stupid if they didn't. Heck I'd even consider using it on a warrior and paladin.

I would have to call this a nerf. I mean, you would have to have some REALLY fast reflexes to stop yourself from autoattacking or accidently clicking any one of your half dozen attacks when this thing procs. nothing like proccing Invulnerable mail immediately before a windfury or whatever goes off.

Invulnerable Mail is like one of the 4 decent Armorsmith only plans. The others are the Whitesoul Helm, the Enchanted Thorium Helm, and the Dark Iron Chestplate (which is only amazing if you're a hardcore MC/Onyxia runner or really REALLY like armor rating above all things).
I'm going hammersmith since my guild (yep, finally joined a guild) has found the plans for Serenity, the Dark Iron Pulverizer, Masterwork Stormhammer, and the Hammer of the Titans. I'm specced for swords, but a 53+ DPS two-hander with a 3 sec stun on proc sounds like some fun PvP shit.

The "breaks when you attack" is the current effect... they are removing it.

I swear to god I thought this thread was about the postal service.
It's been too long since I've thought in medieval terms.

Ahh, GG reading comprehension on my part there. I thought you meant they were going to make] invuln mail's proc break if you mele'd, not that the proc dissapearing while meeling is a bug.

I'd consider that as a warrior depending on the proc rate. No damage for 10 seconds eh? Hrm. Perhaps even over my ornate adamantium bp http://www.thottbot.com/?i=17848 I'd always just discounted it because the effect broke when you attack, so I never really thought through it.

I'm not sure if it would be good for tanking, you'd have to see if the invuln messes with aggro first.

I would think invlun would also mess with rage generation. Probably not super for warriors but for any other person who could use it the armor would be tasty.

It would be situational with the rage, but if it deaggros that would be a killer. There will be a detailed report on steelwarriors or somewhere like it long before I could gather up 30 more arcanite bars anyway. I am almost to my epic mount, so I'll be flat broke soon.

Okay I'm necroing this thread because as a lot of you might know, invulnerable mail is geting changes in 1.7. I've been wondering a lot about if it's pure incompetence or if there's some hidden motive for this. I know blizzard has done really stupid things in the item department in the past.
I'd like to say, just like I pointed out before that it got a bit to good in 1.6 with the huge buff. But now they've changed it to the following: 554 armor, 14 defense and 5% chance to proc a 3 second shield, can't proc more than once every 30 second. That's a fairly useless chest piece now, no stats and a half assed proc which screws up tanking, this would've perhaps been decent on a trinket, but to give up the best item slot in the entire game for this? This is the most expensive item to craft in the game, except for the legendary weapons. 30 arc bars, 30 enhanced leather, 6 azerothian diamonds, 6 huge emeralds.

Yeah it's pretty crappy now. Well, it's nice enough, it's just not anywhere near 30 arcanite bars. I'd say reduce the price to a max of 12 and mail anyone who has one the extra bars it used to cost.

I still don't think anybody would use it even then, remember that it grants no immunity to magic, only physical dmg. Also, it's the best slot, armor and +defense simply isn't intresting enough for hunters or shamans.

It could be nice as a way to dump all aggro in instances if you're a healbot shaman or a hunter maybe... but yeah.
