Fixed an issue where some game controls were not available to be rebound within the Options menu.

  reflective surfaces.

Fixed a crash that happened when a client picks up a kit that doesn't

Thanks Shock!

Has anyone played yet? I wonder how much better the server browser is, if at all. Nice to see they fixed the memory leak or whatever caused the worsening of server conditions (I noticed it last night).

The server browser has only been slightly improved -- there is still no Favorites feature. Scrolling in the browser is more responsive though it's still sluggish. Sorting by name now actually works properly (before you usually had to sort at least twice to get it to sort) and the sorting seems faster. There's also a new "Update Server List" button separate from the Refresh button. Clicking on a server can still be painfully slow while it goes and gets the player information and does who knows what else.

All I'm hoping for is that the mass server disconnect problem has been fixed (dunno if that was a server or client problem or both).

All I know is that I hate the error message "There is a Problem With Your Connection".

Well I played for a little while this morning after the Gunz servers kept crashing and this version seems even less stable than the release one on my computer. I'm now getting crashes to desktop while playing the game as well as during map loads/changes like before.

I got one CTD when I first started, but nothing after that. Did get dumped from servers more often. The good news is the browser seems a bit faster and slightly less asstastic. It still has no place in a retail product, but that is another story.

Quote from: DICE/EA
Community Update - 7/8/05

HOTFIX for Battlefield 2 v1.01 Coming Soon
First off, a HUGE thanks to all of you who emailed me in regards to the memory leak found in the update we released earlier this week (v1.01). Your emails found their way to our production team and they’re in the process of evaluating what needs to be done in order to get this fixed. In the meantime, and since the 1.01 update is causing memory leakage on some systems, we recommend that you reinstall the game and NOT the v1.01 update we released earlier this week.

Reinstalling Battlefield 2 will not affect your in-game medals or ranked server statistics. EA and DICE are committed to getting a fix for v1.01 as soon as we possibly can and will continue to keep you informed through this web space in the coming days.

NOTE: If you installed and are running the newer server files (Win and Linux versions) we made available earlier this week, please revert those as well. We found that those files had the same issues with memory leaks as did the v1.01 update.
