I finally got into this instance.  It was one large gankfest.  Unfortunantly, the Horde only had 15 freaking people to our 40, but they were good sports and stayed anyway.  But anyways, what is there to do besides gank the other side?  I got some hides off of some wolves but didn't know what to do with them.  Being only 52, that's about all I could handle by myself.

Does anybody have any favorite Alterac strategies or tasks that they stick to?  Seeing how we had no leadership at all, it would be nice to know what's going on.

First thing you do, is go to your main base and collect ALL the quests. The majority of the are repeatable per instance. These earn you faction, and also help your team win the battleground.

The idea is to compleatly capture all the flag points, and then invade the enemy base, and kill their NPC. To do this you need toi gather a bunch of blood, and summon your major war elemental, also, you rescue the flight masters to get air strikes, and turn in armor shardes to increase your, and your npcs, armor. Then you have a very long and nasty battle getting past the enemy base guards and killing the main npc.

Or if your alliance, you just pull the Hordes main npc out of the back of their base and kill him safely away from his guards.

Oh yeah, dont forget to ninja loot every player corpse you can find.

This is really foul.  What the fuck is Blizzard doing?

That must be the totally ingenius strategy Poppop and Maeka were refering to when they were bitching about somebody training guards on them.

There is actually a screanshot floating around, from my server, where one alliance guild actually pulled the Horde boss all the way to their main base, and let their main boss + guards kill him.

I keep trying to tell myself this thing about Blizzard favolring the Alliance is just perspective, but shit like this keeps comming up.

I'm all for the factions having different strategic advantages/obstacles to benefit from and overcome, but that sounds abit extreme.  I haven't seen it happen yet on my server so i can't really judge.

Really like these upcomming changes.  Nerf ninja-looting 4tw.

EDIT:  Holy fuck, batman.  The butler just pulled the joker into the batcave, lets run him over with the batmobile!

I also like the fact that our contestable mine (Coldtooth) is ohh, about 1/6th of the way UP the map, and conveniently much closer to the alliance then their mine (Irondeep) which is at the fucking VERY TOP of the map, BEHIND their fucking main base line, meaning they have it about 10 times easier capturing and holding our mine (let alone theirs) for supplies then we have for theirs.

That just makes it harder for us to take that last gy, we have tons of mobs attacking us from the mine and anyone can run in there with a dot and aggro the whole mine on us.

which will be going away when they fix guard training, and is also easily fixable by capping the mine before assaulting the graveyard (then horde players get overwhelmed by miners instead)

However, you guys have a chokepoint from hell, defended by 1000 mines, two bugged towers that can shoot you if you're in the village, even if you're in the tower just before the chokepoint [you can't shoot back]... your graveyard is beyond the two towers [both towers have LOS to the gy... you can't shoot back] and the horde boss is right next to the gy, meaning some asshat will run in to him dotted and train him on the alliance group. Plus, you can only get to the chokepoint by running through and aggroing several 61 elites with ~5 min respawn. Wipetastic!

The bridge before the dorf base gotta' go though, if only to force people to find a new scapegoat. :p

It goes back and forth.  On my server alliance has won every single time and the non stop complaining about the alliance base is only matched by the complaining about the horde base on my old server, where horde always wins.  The bridge is nasty, and so is the maze going into the horde base.  I've never actually seen the horde boss pulled out of the base other than by horde themselves aggroing him on us with a dot, which just pulls him out to the gy and eventually he gets evade bugged and pops back.

I must have gotten killed by this 50 times last night (being a squishy 52 mage has its downside).  The bold part in particular caused about 75% of those deaths.

Then I discovered that if you hang a right as soon as you enter the village, you can avoid it completely.  It's mined, but once you know where they are, it's far easier to get through, especially if the Horde isn't defending it from the nearby hills.
