Saviours release events will kick off June 30 to July 5. Sok will be available online from 27th, and legal in relevant constructed formats immeadiately.

Release leagues are 1 week/5 match with 2x prizes, 2 tix + 1 kami tourney pack + 3 sok boosters to enter.

Sealed PEs will run with 2xprizes, again 2tix + tourney pack + 3sok.

Participation in the above also buys you an oni of wild places avatar, a 5-0 league record, or a top 2 PE finish gets you a sakashima avatar.

Beta rumour has it that if anyone still played Vanguard, these avatars would have the following abilities....

Oni of Wild Places
+1 hand, -2 Life
Creatures you control have haste.
At the beginning of your upkeep return a creature you control to hand.

Sakashima the Imposter
0 Hand, +1 Life
2: Choose a creature you control. It becomes a copy of Target creature.

And, btw, Snakes.dec, or anything else with tokens + Sakashima = omfg.

I'll still be in Europe, so I won't be able to play.

But would it be worthwhile to buy up a bunch of packs now, or should I simply wait until I get home?

Also, if I should buy packs, about how many?

I miss Magic.

Don't see why you'd buy them ahead. Not as if they'll run out.

I would only buy exactly as many packs as you need for specific sealed events or drafts that you want to take part in. Buy cards you actually want from dealers, it's cheaper.

I've never actually played in a MtG:O "event"..

I'd probably get blown out, and not have a whole lot to show for it.
