Just look at shelfspace and then look at all the frosty candyass bitch Nintendo fanbois. It just feels good to rub salt in the goddamn wounds. Why won't you let me?

If you didn't know it by now: Those wounds are yours, man. That's why.

Alternative reply:

Exactly what were your gaming preferences as a kid? I mean, who the hell hates Nintendo? Lol.

I loved Nintendo, until the Dolphin debacle and the giant piece of ass that was the Nintendo 64. It just sucked. That. Much. Cock.

And when I say loved nintendo, I mean beat up people who said Sonic was better than Mario. I'm not kidding.

They killer my inner child. I liked my Atari Jaguar more than the n64.

GameBoy Micro: The shock and disbelief of their current gameboy being refined for the near-future market is staggering, especially with history showing that they've only done it maybe fourteen billion times already.  Really, Nintendo cannot sink lower, while what Sony has successfully done in the past with the PSone and slim PS2 is all good...

EDIT:  I think, in fairness, I should mention I am apprehensive of supporting Xbox anything because of their fostering of the asshole gamer-community that the runaway success of the PSX spawned.  It's a mostly unreasonable bias, but it's one of my faults that I've accepted.

I'm apprehensive of supporting Sony because their shit keeps breaking on me.  I am awaiting with fear the day that fucking PSP of mine stops letting me play Lumines for God knows why.

I'm supportive of Nintendo because of their franchises and design philosophy.

Aw, that makes me sad.  cry  What about the Rare games (again, earlier post)? Unless you're one of the many who hates platforms, I can't see how you could hate on N64.

The GBA didn't need to be shrinked. It needed an upgrade to compete with the PSP. Not some half-baked PSP-looking version of the GBA.

Seriously. What are you trying to do here? Make Sony look like the bad guy? The PStwo looks 10x better than the PS2 and the PSone was merely something people were asking for. It *still* sells. Why? It's great to hook up to Car TVs, like the Dreamcast. Fits under a seat.

Edit: Right when I saw the n64 it was over between me and Nintendo. They'd fucked me. I got the better end of the deal with the PS1, Dreamcast and Jaguar anyway. I mean, I owned an n64, but that's because we knew people who knew some people who could give me stuff. I think I owned all of 8 games. I was playing on my PC all the time by the time Goldeneye and Perfect Dark came out. They looked like shit to me anyway, and I hate the n64 controller. I have big hands. Dreamcast and Jaguar controllers fit them better (the jaguar controller was huge and awkwardly in fact and it was better).

So the GBA Micro sucks ass. So what if the Revolution is only so-so.

Nintendo will turn that frown upside down.

Barely.

Here's some news 10 people will notice:

EBgames now has the girls game from NCSoft (Alterlife) listed as November 11th, 2005 release date. I can't wait. I also can't wait for a press release saying it's coming to america.

I like Nintendo more now than I did in 1990 where I considered them to be what your average penguin plushie fucking Linux fanboy considers Microsoft.  I was a complete slut for Sega who were cool, rebellious, forward thinking, and just generally everything Nintendo wasn't.

Fast worward to now and I like Nintendo for attempting to be creative.  Sadly the same drugs that make the interesting games are taken by the entire company which is why they keep buggering everything up with some insanely dumb decisions.

I was a Sega guy as well (but not the type who'd defend Sonic. Alex Kidd maybe. But not Sonic), but with them out of the competition, I have to latch on to something from the past. That, and I'm weary of the direction other gaming companies have taken gaming to (i.e. angst, 12 year old Japanese schoolgirl boobies, movie licenses, etc..). Nintendo is a symbol of the complete opposite.

Hooray for the underdog!

The Hello Kitty game does seem interesting, but I can't figure out why.  The problem is how much ridicule I would get from my wife if she caught me playing that.  She's already suspicious of me, thanks to Paper Mario, Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Luigi's Mansion.

After seeing a lot of the things they said, and the footage they showed, I really am starting to agree with schild. They are fucking clueless. They don't know how to change themselves to compete in today's game market, at least not on the level they used to. They keep retreading and recycling old franchises, or shining up the turds of the old franchises and shoehorning them into everything they can find. Mario DDR? WTF?

I do think the downloadable old games on the Revolution is a spectacular idea, and provided those 3rd party developers get paid good royalties for those games, I think everybody should do it.

But I also think that they should just stop trying to create hardware and making fucking games.

They should Rename themselves "The Epic of the East" and just make Smash Bros. You know, Smash Bros 2007, Smash Bros 2008. And then once in a blue moon, release soemthing like Smash Bros Championship 2: The Liandri Princess. There's your zelda game right there.

I like epic. They make good stuff and know they're double dipping. Honesty is gud.

Parentheses mine.  This morning the husboyfriend and I were talking about this (or something relevant) and he said something to the effect of Nintendo being the last outlet for independent game developers, and that eventually y'all will be tired of Madden 2009 and Doom 5 and Half Life 4. I agree with him 100% on this. Nintendo is at least trying to facilitate non-franchised games that have something new.

Finally! Someone agrees with me.

And of COURSE the Hello Kitty game is compelling. THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO TELL YOU. You must not, nay, you can not resist the Kitty.

First of all: Nintendo has nothing to do with independent developers. They INVENTED socialist like control in the gaming industry. Nintendo isn't an outlet for independent developers. At all, in no way shape or form. Repetition is good.

Second: Hello Kitty was out for an annivesary in Japan and other parts of Asia for the Xbox before the Gamecube and PS2 ones were even announced. Sanrio <3s Xbox or something.

I think some of us said Nintendo should stop making hardware about a year ago. But anyway, yah, they suck. Head up ass, etc. Tradition seems to stick to them just like crazy glue.

What non-franchised games is Nintendo making? The new Zelda? Pokemon RPG? Mario DDR?

The only thing I can think of is Nintendogs, which I don't even consider a game.

To be fair, what I said was that the GBA is currently the best platform for indy developers, which I think I can back up if necessary.  Nintendo itself, as a publisher, heh, no.

Short of the PC and possibly the Xbox 360, yea I could see that. Though homebrew shit on PSP will hopefully, eventually, be huge and lead to a big indy market.

I was mostly referring to the ability of one person to create all of the content.  Direct X, Milkshape, gcc, Torque.. all kinds of avenues for developing on the PC (Torque on the XBox?  Hmm.), but it's a bit tougher for one person to do all the work as soon as you get out of Sprite and Tile land.

Just the ability to run different emulators on the PSP certainly opens up possibilities, at least for those who view it as a hobby.  The fact is the cell phone and flash is all the indy studio really has left, assuming they don't have a budget in the millions and a contract to write an expansion pack or something.
