I just saw an ad for this movie on TV, so I decided to google up the trailer.   Here's a link to the official site.  It's basically a semi fictionalized version of the story told by the Dogtown/Z Boys documentary (which kicks ass and I reccommend it highly).

So if you're into skating or at least the old school skaters, check this one out.  Looks like it should be good.

I traded in my fun blog for several legal blogs. Or, "blawgs," as the cutesy attorney blawgosphere likes to call 'em.

Saw the trailer when I saw Sin City.

Looks cool...

Saw the trailer at Sin City as well.

I have a bad feeling about it. Tony Alva is the shit. And Dogtown and Z-Boyz was great. But a dramatic reenactment about it?
Was the documentary not good enough? Is this supposed to appeal to the kids who skipped out on it? Then fuck 'em.

It also doesn't help that Hollywood's previous attempts at skateboard related movies have been nothing but insulting.

Aww man...I was so stoked when that movie came out.  rolleyes

Too bad it wasn't about skateboarding. Some good footage of Mullen at the end credits though.

Probably the only movie that I've liked that had *some* skateboarding in it was Police Academy 4.

Go now.  Rent or buy "Search For Animal Chin."  Witness Hawk with a mullet.

It's priceless.  It's also the best skate movie evar.

Oh, I've already got it. :-D That's funny that you mention it, because I was going to make a post about the Bones Brigade DVD's not too long ago. Just didn't know if anyone cared.

Anyways, I didn't know it counted as a "movie" per se. It's basically still a skate video more than it is a movie....Well, kind of. But if it qualifies, then yeah, I agree.

Best "skate" skate video though, in my opinion, is a toss up between Hocus Pocus (H-Street) or Ban This (Solely because of Frankie Hill). Both were just sick when they came out. Still are....As far as street skating goes at least.
