Restaurant closed after animal carcass reportedly found in dinner
By Boston.com Staff And Associated Press | May 6, 2005 BOSTON -- Boston health inspectors temporarily suspended the health permit of a Chinese restaurant in Dorchester Thursday night after a customer reportedly found animal remains in her takeout order on Wednesday. Charlestown resident Delphine Hamilton told the Boston Herald that she was disgusted to find what appeared to be the head of a small mouse in her takeout dinner from Jade Chopsticks on Morton Street. She notified city officials, who inspected the restaurant on Thursday. Lisa Timberlake, spokeswoman for the city's inspectional services department, said the inspection turned up multiple health code violations, including unsanitary conditions and rodent droppings. Timberlake said the contents of the takeout dinner have been sent to a state lab for testing.
