wants a greif tittle

Ok, I tried to wade through the PSP countdown thread, and my head almost exploded (and I didnt find much info on the PSP Games).

Could you guys give me some info about the PSP games. I did some searching and I wasnt to happy with what I found. Basically, I was considering getting a PSP becasue I have to go on a 2 days trip to my girlfriends families house, and im leaving tomorrow. So, then I started looking at games. Basically, im not a huge fan of sports games, racing games (got 2 for xbox and that is one to many), card games (Metal Gear: AC!D... wtf). From what I can tell that leaves me with Lumines (sp?), which I am not going to drop $250 on a PSP just for that kind of game.

What other options do I have? and how are the games?

I know you said you don't like racing games, but you might consider Wipeout Pure. I don't like racing games much either, but I own that one and I like it an awful lot. It's more like high-speed Mario Kart than a "serious" racing game.

If you like Diabloish games, Untold Legends isn't a bad purchase.  It's a tad simplistic and I haven't gotten that far in yet, but it looks like something that could give you a great deal of play time.  Graphics and sound are pretty good.  Combat's like a mix between Diablo and Gauntlet.  So far the plot and writing are so-so.

Lumines is fantastic.  It's a load of fun.  Glad I got this one.  It's very, very addictive and I'm not really a big fan of puzzle games.

The gaming library does have some significant holes.  There's no traditional RPG.   I loved the Final Fantasy Legends series on my gameboy.   There's no turn based tactical RPG.  Something akin to Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Battle (forgot name of newer one), or Advance Wars is needed.  I'd like to see a horror game too.

On a side note. I have a little more time to consider my purchase. Because YAY!! Trip canceled.

Grand Theft Auto is scheduled for May 16 (I think).  That's probably worth a look.

Other than that, I had the same problem. I like the technology, but the games aren't there yet for me. I can wait...I think.

A good idea is a good idea forever.

Despite the insane system and inane story, I'm really enjoying Metal Gear Acid.  Great fun at work, pretending to listen to the people on the phone who can't figure out Outlook Express.
