So someone mentioned this on Discord the other day and I hadn't seen anything about it because I don't really follow the upcoming tv/movies stuff.

This show is very different but also very good.

Great performances all around, cannot recommend enough.

Mindfuck Inc. and I am here for it.

Tuned in, immediately get to watch cringey Ubisoft talking head offering her deepest sympathies to the families impacted by the Orlando shooting while flanked by a man in a giraffe suit and some sort of "horrifically garish neon costumes through the ages" exhibit or something.  We need to stop this fucking planet right now and sort some shit out. -Kail

Similar concept, starkly different vibe and execution.

Loved this show.

Just a fascinating show. Loved all of it, even if it started off a bit slow. Binged this sucker in two days. It's just weird and mysterious enough to be constantly compelling; there's always something that I want to know more about.

It's been a long time since I was so pissed that I couldn't keep watching a show.

Started this last night due to recommendations here, two episodes in so far.  I love the visual style, and haven't quite sussed out yet whether we're in a very specifically stylized near-future or an alternate-history 20th century.  I really want to know what exactly the company does, but in some ways it's beside the point so I won't be surprised if we never learn.

The creator answered this in an AMA on reddit: "we used cars from a lot of different time periods to give a slight sense of disorientation. At Lumon, the Innies are intentionally made to feel unmoored from time and space, and that bleeds into the town a bit too. We wanted the town to feel like an extension of Lumon in a way."

Irving being metal as fuck IRL was the biggest "should have seen that coming" reveal.

I'm two episodes in as well, with the exact same question as Samwise. Thoroughly enjoying it, love seeing Adam Scott in something that isn't a comedy.

It reminds me of Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World a little: split consciousness that feels like two different worlds, weird math that's based on your subconscious, etc.

This isn't a comedy?   DRILLING AND WOMANLINESS why so serious?

Finished last night; this is a very difficult show not to binge.  I echo the sentiment about being pissed that I couldn't keep watching.  Looking forward to season 2.

Spoilers/speculation on "what does the company do".  (I haven't gone googling for what people have gleaned from freeze-frame easter eggs yet.)
