As seen here:

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-general&t=2081971&p=1&tmp=1#post2081971

Downtime will be "approximately" 6 hours starting as of 5:00 am Pacific time.

Patch notes are here:

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/patch-05-07-04.html

Edit: The patch is available for download right now, even though the servers are down for maintenance, and yes they are still using their stupid BitTorrent client.

Download Rate: 4.00 KB/s

77% done. I want to sleep but if I do so my laptop will power down and end the download. :/

EDIT: It jumps around like crazy from 2 KB/s to 16 KB/s. Really, it shouldn't happen. My line can pull ~50, it should pull ~50.

Now I get to try to unfuck Cosmos for the first time (I started using it after the last patch). I am sure I can muddle my way through it, but ideally there would be a better mechanism.

Looking forward to the changes, especially the extra chests to skill up my lockpicking. The doors in SM are green now and taking too long to get skill gains.

Yah, I'm sure adding a lot of content will lessen the instability for those of you in 'WOW DOESN'T WORK"-land.

Not sure I'm looking forward to life after this patch.  It's reinstituting the old EQ dragon race with the new epic outdoor spawns.  If we're lucky they'll even have each encounter rely on heavy AEing at some point so douchebag night elves can flag and stand in AEs.

Still, a short cut to Molten Core will be nice.  New 5 man dungeon is nice (multiple entrances! YAY).  Making Strath and Scholo a bit more manageable and fixing other instance bugs = golden.

I don't expect this patch to go well initially and I expect the servers to yoyo for a while as they attempt to fix new gamebreakers the patches introduce.  On the plus side, I really should finish reading Wolves of the Calla, perhaps this will help.

I'm at 82% and waiting.

Looking forward to trying out a new dungeon and the honor system (is this in?)

Also, the changes to Scholo and Strath should make 5-8 manning it much much easier.  This means you can get yer loots and reset the instance with minimal fucktardiness.

I'm pretty sure Honor system isn't this patch.

They're fixing the "drop raid and get credit" cheesing right?  5 man Baron runs will be interesting.  Yes I know Afterlife and other ub0r billy badasses can do it with 4 without breaking a sweat, but man, that takes a really specialized group to live through some of the stuff they throw at you near the end.

This will start out guild running 2 UBRS teams if we have the people available.  I'm not looking forward to being B team's offtank healer.  At least now it will be possible to lose if you completely fuck up General (ie one offtank dies 10 seconds thus setting off a cascade of death).

I'll try and host the patch once I finally finish as long as y'all promise to softly touch my server and whisper sweet things in it's ear.

Love it.. I can't even connect to the website.  For the last 2 hours trying to login just sticks me at 'authenticating'.

- Of course.. as I type that, after it's sat there for a half hour or so it decides to connect and patch.  66-100KB/s meh.

Log in screen sez there was a bug that was preventing disconned players from reconnecting to their servers (circa 3:30 PST). Not sure if it is up and running yet- busily pumping away at EMM's patch mirror (TY for that, btw).

I'm going to guess that Blizzard still hasn't figured out how to not fuck the servers when more than 100 people are in the same place.

In this case, every server has a zerg rush at Dire Maul.

It will be fun when they'll release the battlegrounds. The servers are going to be fucked up for weeks.

Well I've been through the first two parts of Dire Maul.

Fun fun.  Nice and easy.

Tried one of the final ones and it was actually difficult.  Mobs doing things I hadn't seen before.

Good times, got a pimp hat.

Edit: fixed your link.

Did you try the Ogre one in the back?  That one had some interesting scenarios my group couldn't quite handle.  Of course, having a shaman solo heal certain parts of that section without reliable crowd control is near fucking suicidal.

I do find it a little ironic, though, that I've now gone for 3 days without a single crash.  I reinstalled the whole damn OS though - so maybe that had summat to do with it....

Just in time for the Euro patch to be released and fuck it all up again.

I planned ahead. Went out last night and did laundry, movie night tonight. Hopefully by thursday night everything will be straightened out with a spankin' new cosmos version to boot.

That's one nice pimp hat! Some days I do wish I were in a raid guild that could get phat lewtz like that. Then I remember the raid guild I was in and have to shower. Like the Walrus said so eloquently in the EQ2 forum, I'm content to cruise downhill with my hand making wavies in the roiling air...

Yeah, that's compiled nightly, iirc. I don't mind waiting for the release version, usually comes out pretty quick.

And I forgot what night it is....scratch movies, I gotta figure out how I'm going to play a blues gig and show up for IRC CoC and attend a meeting AND watch a couple movies. All tonight. Yay me.
