I was hoping for a bit more content, I don't really care about the map part.

Dunno about steep. Small production run + American Production tends to equal "expensive."

Point taken. Wish they'd have left out the "map", 11x17 is office copier print&play sized.

He hasn't come out and said it because EEE doesn't really do "marketing" but it seems like a great sized map for 2 players, which base cave evil was not great at despite being modular.

A deck of cards with decorative backs (all different) can be made and sold for a profit at $3.
