Mechs plus the pedigree of FTL? Colour me interested.

Got this earlier, it's fantastic. A descendent of FTL in spirit onl, very different gameplay, though the presentation is very similar. Has a puzzle element in which you have to protect landmarks (or destroy them) knowing your enemies moves in advance. Makes it one of the more interesting turn based systems I've encountered.

Hmm, I got this. I've found it pretty shallow compared to FTL. Not enjoying it that much on the second play through, feels like the first game again.

Yeh seems that way, first few hours were great though.

I’ve played enough of this to know that it’s not for me. It’s no FTL for sure.
It’s too much like chess and I don’t particularly like chess either. Individual runs also take too long so this is not a „just another run“ sort of game.I don’t particularly like that you unlock stuff through achievements either because that means I won’t ever own all of the teams or upgrades.
It’s all mechanics but unlike chess its randomness makes it so you can absolutely lose a map and a perfect island on the first turn. Lastly I don’t really get why a game that is built around a very small map and clear move sets of the pieces needs so many mobs that restrict your movement. Webbing your mechs feels very cheap when the game does it so often.

I’d love that game much more as a tablet game

The chess comparison is spot on, that's probably why it appeals to me and won't to others.

Bad, simple chess. With randomness.
It was diverting, but not worth $15.

Yeh $15 is probably a bit much for a title with such little depth, but I actually like the game mechanics. About 14 hours played and I still haven't beat it, maybe I'm bad at it?

If you're playing normal. Yeah. I didn't beat it first time, but got about one round off. Second time through I beat it.
