Frostpunk - Survival-Citybuilder

Since this is from studio that made "This war of mine" it's probably worth to be on the F13 watchlist.

Scheduled release: Spring 2018

Cinematic Trailer

(a bit of) Gameplay Trailer

20 minute "Let's play Frostpunk"  from one of those annoying teenager-streamers.

Oddly that looks rather good and intriguing.

It's an insta-buy for me. Unfortunately, it's out next Tuesday which is also the day BattleTech gets released. Abundance is good but two good release at the same time kind of take away from each other for me.

Reviews are saying it's shallow.  Only about 12 hrs of gameplay.  Three scenarios to play thru, rather than a full-fledged city builder sim.

I haven't bought it, tho, so I have no idea how accurate this is; I'm just repeating stuff I saw online.

I would like to thank Vladimir Putin for ensuring that every member of the NPR news staff has had to say "Pussy Riot" on the air multiple times.

it might be shallow, but it's fun

i'm not sad I purchased it

edit: Also, not being shallow in a game like this means it's full of fucking inaccessible arcane horseshit

I guess it's not Paradox enough for those "shallow" reviewers.

This keeps going on sale but I haven't heard anyone talk about it much since it first went on sale.  Is it worth it?

I didn't get very far -- the choices are way too grimdark for my tastes.

Also I couldn't hack things to give myself unlimited resources awesome, for real

Edit: get

When it came it had only few scenarios.
Difficulty level is not scaled well IMHO. People starting the game for the first time on standard difficulty will freez their city pretty fast.
It's a nice city sim with very limited scale. You are fighting for life not to thrive. And its beautifule.

I am indeed bad at this game.  I always get my shit kicked in when the final event hits, or just fuck everything up along the way somehow.

Just lower the difficulty to minimum until You will figure out the technologies.
Like e.g I didnt know until a few plays that when You want to replace a tents with houses You dont need to demolish them first - just build the house on it.

Haha, yeah, I only just figured that out my last play through (which was awhile ago).  I may have given myself a concussion from the face palm after so much pain and suffering to that point when I realized I could do that.
