Movie was fine if wholly predictable. Like, a 6 out of 10.
The last 3 minutes took it down to like a 3/10.
So many possible directions to take the ending and they came up with a terrible one I couldn't come up with on my own.

Out of curiosity, what sort of direction would have been your preferred ending?

I was amazed at how little chemistry there was between Star-Lord and Katpiss. Good actors though.

I liked the bit where J-Law finds out what really happened, that was pretty well done but the ending was dull.

The trailer had me interested, but once I found out "the twist," that interest just evaporated.

Here is one preferred ending: I really liked the movie, but there were so many things wrong with it that I can't recommend it to anyone. Consider that Chris Pratt is playing an engineer and compare his actions to Matt Damon in The Martian, who also plays an engineer, and the level of dumb in this movie is hard to believe.

Planes? Shit, I'm terrified to get in my car now!

My god this was ridiculously predictable. Just, stunningly so. Every single step of the way you knew exactly what was going to happen next. Was it written by an automated system too?

Heh, the original script had a bit of a darker ending, but they canned it for the Hollywood take:

Does every movie have to be unpredictable? I mean, yes, this movie was predictable af. But still.

No, but I can forgive a lot of predictability if the acting's better. Chris Pratt is trying to grow out of being Andy from Parks & Rec, I'll give him that, but he's got a long way to go. Jennifer Lawrence just leaves me cold. She's got dead eyes.

Yeah I agree. She looks like she's trying to squeeze out a codeine turd sideways when she cries.
